He swallows and regurgitates better than any other poster on here , it's quite a feat . Then disappears for days after Godden has a good game against Boro after wanting rid of him after the Leicester game
He's a strange one for sure

Jamie McCart LCB signed by Barnsley on season long loan. Who knows if this is a chink on the door?

It would be a bit frustrating, but I presume you wouldn't want the club to be taken for a ride and pay over the odds, or alternatively sign someone who wasn't near the top of our list?

No but three weeks is more than enough time to replace Hamer and get the other reinforcements in.

If you've just won £1,000, that wouldn't justify forking out £20 for a Mars bar.

We were actually one kick away from staying in the mix.

Last season has gone. No professional footballer will sign on that alone. You are just an emotional fan.

Lots of teams are showing intent and ambition to get promoted to the Premier League. We are better placed than we were but by no means are we out in front leading the field.

Absolutely, no professional footballer will sign on that alone but it’s something that other clubs simply can’t say. Of course I’m biased and emotionally involved but I genuinely think we should be aiming high and pushing that extra £1m here and there to get deals done, for example Brekalo has stated he’d love to move to the Prem and doesn’t mind taking time to establish himself at another club to get there, I can’t imagine it would take much more than an extra £1m or so to get the deal done. If he improves even further as a player and a bigger club then us comes along and makes a bid in the next window then it’s an opportunity we’ve missed out on.
I’m not having a go (and I don’t like being pessimistic) but as it currently stands we have Eccles, Sheaf and Kelly playing as defensive CMs and a loan signing as CB backup, what happens if we have a serious injury (McFadz won’t last forever unfortunately) and then a suspension, we’ve literally got no one to play CB. Same for CM, Kelly is getting on and isn’t the quality we need, what if Sheaf or Eccles gets injured? It’s a real lack of quality and depth that concerns me. I trust Robins and our fanbase all the way but we’ve got to plan for unforeseen circumstances and aim above and beyond if we want to be a consistent top 6 team.

I don't think Kitching is worth £4 million, never mind the £5 million + that Barnsley reputedly want. I would love to get another CB in but not at the expense of being fleeced. I would rather keep the cash and put it towards a Hamer replacement.

I would be happy to get a couple of players in on loan if we can't get the players we want as permanent signings and try again in January.

If we do miss out on a midfielder then I can see us playing the box formation again with Ayari and Sakamoto behind Simms/Wright

Last season £2-3m would’ve been outrageous spending for us, I can’t believe we now just want to throw that amount at whoever to “help us out”?

Yeah you’re right it would have but we’ve moved on as a club since then, selling our best players to help fund development, Vik & Gus together got 30 goals for us last season, to remain worried about £2-£3m when we have a large deficit in quality in our midfield seems like the wrong way to look at it in my opinion.

We have upped our bids for players ,.just look at Kitching we started at 2.5 and went up to 4 million. There has to be a time to say no and walk away . It isn't football manager and we can't treat it as such if we want long term stability

Agree with you there, I think that’d be the best thing to do rather than trying to force Eccles to be a Hamer replacement, we have a wealth of attacking mids so might as well use a formation that allows us to use them.

I don't like the January transfer window. But it will still be there as an option. We will get injuries but will we have as many long term ones as last year? You can only have so many back ups in any one position so not something you can completely legislate against That part is a lottery.

I still think signing the right players for the next
2-3 years is key, not just signing players to say we have signed a player.

Very true, and I agree with you on Kitching, £4 million is too much to pay for him. I think Brekalo is worth more though, he looks like the real deal tbh.
