Coventry City are reported to be “close” to signing Venezuelan international midfielder Daniel Pereira.

The 25-year-old central midfielder currently plays for MLS side Austin FC but is reported to be on his way to the CBS Arena to join the Sky Blues as Frank Lampard looks to strengthen his squad this summer.

from the CT aka SBT hahahaha

Looks like a tidy player, seems quick too for a cm. One thing I’d possibly be worried about is his positioning as he seems to be all over the pitch however having grimes sitting can accommodate that. Positive signing

He came up as more of a high #8/#10 as a youth player before shifting further back as a professional. Has some on-ball creativity that you typically don't see from deeper-lying midfielders in this league. Honestly, I think he is at his best when given the freedom to go and find the game rather than doggedly worrying about rest defense responsibilities.

I disagree some. Feel like we’re definitely still missing that aggressive progressive player in the middle. Our best midfielder players are more defensively minded.

Given our aspirations Allen can’t be relied on. Eccles might also enter that bracket.
How do you fit them all in though?

Asked Austin fans on Reddit and they said he’s best as an 8, but played deeper this season because he’s their best midfielder and the manager wants him to be on the ball as much as possible - which has limited his attacking output.
