Trains / Night out Questions (1 Viewer)

As most of you that know me from on here know I'm a life long Cov fan, born in the area but moved away when I was young, was a season ticket holder when I was in my teens but since I've been an "adult" I've bought things like Flexi tickets or gone when I could. That being said I don't know an awful lot about Coventry itself, I've always drive to games and home again without ever really venturing into the centre, so......

For the Shrewsbury game on the 1st me and a mate will be coming down on the train from Norfolk, what's the best way to get to the Ricoh ? Walk or is there plenty of taxis ? We're then staying at the Cov travel lodge, is that quite close to the centre and the train station ? Is there any decent pubs and bars close by ? And what will the hours of the pubs be like seeing as its a Sunday and New Year's Day ?

Sorry for the bombardment of questions ! Looking forward to a few fixtures in the next month, Shrewsbury, Spurs and Tranmere for me :)

Thanks folks

Ps. If anyone wants to meet up for a beer before the game down the casino or summat let us know

A taxi from Cov station will be a bit steep so I'd suggest a bus which goes right by the ground.

Earlsdons not bad for your night out ,or stick at the Casino, the hotel I think is in Broadgate so you're handy for town and getting back to the station.

Cov Travelodge right in the town centre / unless you mean Binley??

buses... walk to Trinity Street which is literally seconds from the hotel in the town centre (just past Primark) and get either the 20 or 48 to Tesco arena/Longford, journey time 18 minutes. then just walk through Tesco's to the ground.

Get a bus to the gound, just follow the crowd. After (and before) game have a few in the Casino, am sure you will meet plenty of other Cov fans to get an idea where to go out in the Evening. Ealsdon is good, but if you want somewhere near your Hotel go to the Establishment, The Castle, Inspre or the Squirrel is always a good friendy place,

Have fun

Whenever I get involved in trains and nights out i normally wake up in Glasgow by mistake.

Avoid doing that and you're already ahead.

I really can't fathom people who go the match without going for a pint before and / or after. It's the best part of the day. It must be fucking depressing driving back to Norfolk after home games.

Usually quite a few city fans in the flying standard(closest pub to city centre travel lodge). 20 bus stop right outside so have a pint or two while u wait. Usually I leave there about 130 and then go to ground for a couple in the casino and then to the game.PUSB
