Torch I live about 10 minutes away from the Hospital. There is residents parking but your wife is welcome to borrow a permit from us if she doesn't mind the walk around.

I'll ask her, thanks for the offer.

Hospital food, eh? Not surprised as keeping it down is always an achievement.
Keep the faith buddy. You are not alone the CCFC fans family are all in your corner, wiping your chops with the corner of our hankies, like our mums did. Metaphorically of course as the germs would make Matron faint.

You have to keep fighting, Torch. Your recovery is much more important than our relegation survival could ever be.

I barely ate when I was in hospital for three weeks, just couldn't stand the stuff on offer. If you need some decent food smuggling in Torch, you know where to post.

Still here. Consultant said my blood counts were on the way up and if i could avoid high temps and infections i might be allowed home next week for a week or so before coming back in for the second lot of chemo. Unfortunately had a high temp this evening so not sure if that will affect the plan. I am just desperate to go home for a while and eat some real food and to see my wife and son for a little while. Chances are i will then be in hospital - Cov and Heartlands - until May or even June.

It's great, Oakey. Not only being with my family - nice it's half term - but just seeing the sky, the sun, birds, trees. Everything! I can't describe the feeling really.

Went to Warwick hospital for an appointment today, blood tests, etc and amazingly my blood counts are all normal. Since i came home I've put on four pounds, which is great after losing two stones in six weeks whist in hospital.

Only slight downer was consultant said i might go back in next week. I was strongly disagreeing as i was originally promised a couple of weeks. Said i was putting on weight, etc but at the end of the day i will have to do what they say. The main issue is once i go in i won't be back home until late May or June so I want to be at home for as long as i can. Seeing her again on Monday for the final decision.

Anyway, just enjoying being at home.

Haven't checked this for a while Torchy, but glad they've let you home for a bit and things seem a bit brighter. Good luck on Monday, if you have to go back in early, take it as you'll get the ball moving quicker and ultimately be home sooner. All the best chap.

I'll be around but can't risk it, would love to go but not worth getting an infection and being ill - would definitely have to go back in then. Me and the wife will drop my Dad and lad off at the Ricoh and then have a coffee somewhere. I'll just keep checking my phone for the score. Can't complain really.

I reckon you'll have more empty space around you at the Ricoh than you will in Starbucks mate. Just saying.

Great to hear that you're out - must be a brilliant feeling after being stuck inside and not quite in control of your space for so long. As others have said, you'll know your properly back to normal when the missus starts looking at the state of the lawn and sighing loudly, and when the lad runs off upstairs to play with his X-box rather than waste time talking to you.

Had another bone marrow biopsy today. Absolute bloody agony, it really is. Last time was bad enough and they got the sample first time. Today the nurse was struggling to get to the marrow and had to "go in" a few times. I'm not ashamed to admit I cried when she said she hadn't got a good enough sample and had to go in again. They basically put a massive needle into your lower back. Thankfully my wife was there so I could hold her hand. Now, the area is really sore on my back and I'm chewing on paracetamol. If there isn't sign of any leukemia then I won't have to have the second lot of chemo. If there's even the smallest trace then I will. Have to wait until the end of the week to find out. So I'll either be going back into University hospital on Monday or staying at home a bit longer and then going straight into Heartlands for the transplant. Fingers crossed it's the latter.
