Being Born in 92, I haven't been as privileged as some to great TV,

But IMO....

Only fools, Porridge, Rising Damp, Fawlty Towers, Royle Family.

Then from my own era, the Inbetweeners

Guess he's like Marmite.

I think the Office and Extras are pure class though.

Shows I couldn't / can't stand, coz they were absolute shite:

The Office
Friends
Frazier
The Royal Family
Cheers
Gavin & Stacey
Vicar of Dibley
That Mrs Brown shite
(Am I the only person on the planet who's never seen a single episode of Friends?)

Shows that I liked:
Red Dwarf
One Foot in the Grave (Victor: my hero!)
Black Adder
Men Behaving Badly
My Family
Scrubs
Maybe a few more but can't think at the moment.

Didn't really get Extras to be honest but loved the Office, I could identify to a few of the characters from people I've shared offices with.

How come you rate Friends as shite, Houch, yet say you've never seen a single episode?

Agree with you on Scrubs. Totally disagree on My Family, which for me is one of the very worst sitcoms ever. Bloody awful, derivative nonsense and embassingly poorly written.

As it got worse they threw more and more characters at it trying to make it funny, but it just got worse and worse and worse.

The best sitcoms are those usually based in some kind of reality (Porridge, Likely Lads for example). My Family exists in a world of unbelievable, pure fantasy.

Sorry, rant over.

Quite like One Foot in the Grave and Rew Dwarf though.

Blimey Otis, so that means you didn't like My Family? Must admit, I liked it in the early days but then it drifted off the rails a bit. As for Friends, I say I've never seen a single episode - I watched about 10 minutes once, just to see what all the fuss was about. I thought it was typical U.S. sitcom drivel. I've also seen clips on TV because they keep showing them to advertise the programme, therefore I can't escape from seeing bits of it, so with that, I make my view that it is shite.

Spaced
I'm Alan Partridge
Father Ted
Black Books
The Mighty Boosh (devisive choice)
The Office
Garth Marenghi's Dark Place
Nighty Night
The Young Ones
Blackadder

As for My Family - as well as being poorly written, it opened the door for the out dated foormat the BBC have constantly adopted on their comedy ever since. Mrs Browns Boys, Miranda, Citizen Khan, Not Going Out are all painstakingly horrible, not at all adventurous and basically dumbed down rubbish.

The IT Crowd and Friends are two that on another day, would have snuck the top 10.
