This isn't just about this season but how hes performed since Christmas. His record in 2016 in the league is very poor

P28 W7 D7 L14 F28 A32 Pts 28 ppg 1. Win% 25%

He needs to swallow his pride and go back to basics and he needs results and fast.

I think he'll drop the formation soon., based on the players he has / hasn't got at his disposal. 4-4-2 is back in vogue, and I have to say I think that's something that would suit us with the players we have, especially as we now have so many strikers. I'd say that isn't a case of swallowing his pride so much as re-evaluating based on the current situation.

I do agree tactically at times he does seem slow to change things , however last seasons squad burnt out very quickly due to the age of key players at both ends of the spectrum and certain players " losing interest" .

I still believe this team can gel and become more dynamic , hopefully a full week in training will see a big difference this weekend

It would just be doing what a good manager should.

It was the same when Pressley went on his signing spree and watched the world cup or euros and then changed the formation.

How easy is it to setup a team like Barcelona and whinge that we don't have Barcelona's players?

He should be looking at our players in training, and building a system to suit the players available to him.

I think 10 league games max, how many points / wins would he need in the next 4? 2 wins and a draw? That would out us on 10 from 10?

People keep mentioning Barnsley. After 6 games barnsley had 7 points and won 2 games and were 14th. After 10 they were 13th (played 1 less than the rest of the league) 4 wins and 14 points. More importantly thet were scoring goals.

As TM has said In his interviews, there has not been time for coaching the players in training due to Tuesday/Saturday games as there 2 day preparation work. September he can now "do it on the grass, what good manager do" so let's see what happens. This may lead to a change in formation, approach play.... I hope so because I don't think the forward 3/2 are working, will it? I'm not so sure.
Sordell and Agyei are playing so far apart there in different postcodes and Agyei tho he's big and powerful in yesterday's impression is he dont head the ball!!
TM and JC needs to get things going from tomorrow morning if not... Well signs ain't good for us and him I'm afraid.
But not to worry we're ccfc the futures bleak anyway on and off the pitch.

We're unbeaten at Home and we have only played 6 games.

We could win the next 4 and be on 15 points.

No need to press the panic button till March.....

In went in off Ferguson's beard....

Where I differ is that the manager should have bought the players to fit his systems, however the horse has bolted so you are right he should work in training to get a system the players are comfortable with

Even then, if he wants to play Barca's system for example then Barca level players won't be available in League 1.

Yep, has been poor for some time, but I do think he needs a bit of grace because this is pretty much an entirely new team.

Had it been the same players as last year he would be on the verge of the sack right now.

The question is how realistic they were, then if they all went to Championship teams it left us in a pickle.

I read his post differently to that. As in, that he tried and missed out, so now has to work with what he has. I guess that's why forums are different to conversations in the pub.

Personally I think Mowbray got very lucky with the likes of Kent, Armstrong and Murphy last season. Before that he didn't really impress and after Kent returned to Liverpool and he started to tinker with the team every week, we became awful and inept. I don't think he has grasped what it takes to succeed at this level, he doesn't understand or accept that we need a level of steel in the team, especially in midfield and we need level heads in defence, primarily between the sticks. It's just my opinion but I don't rate RCC or Rickets.
Mowbray's contacts and experience are at higher levels and that's why we are trying to play a brand of football that is struggling because largely we have second rate personnel. It's an ugly league for the most part and we need to learn to win ugly !
I'd give him until November, if we're still in the bottom 4 then he has to go !

Had we agreed a fee for Clarke then?

We didn't have an issue signing Sordell, Reid, Turnbull, Gadzev, Jones etc did we? Yet we know we had an issue signing Wilson who went to a Championship team...

Reading between the lines (and maybe my thinking is muddled by all the nonsense posted on here at times) it appears that 'experienced' pros didn't want to come to the club based on its basket-case reputation. I would love to know if we really are the most bonkers club in the country, or if most clubs have some level of this going on and ours is just one of the best publicised.

Out of all these only Jones has any real talent and he's a bit injury prone it seems ?

Is that the case though? Or were the experience pros like Wilson just offered deals in the Championship where it is obvious we can't compete?

Have any of our players ever had an issue with being paid etc?

I think he does realise that we need steel, but for whatever reason can't find it. As I said before, I expect this to be a fairly mediocre season, but I'm fine with that as long as there is evidence of a clear, coherent plan going forward. For that we need to give him time.

Reid, the winger who is most dangerous out wide. The one we play centre forward to cram him into the system.

Issues with being paid? Not recently. Not sure what that has to do with my post though? The point (for what it's worth, which probably isn't much) is that the club's reputation - losing the ground, losing the academy, fans protesting - puts people off. I know football is different to 'real life', but if I had the choice of joining a stable company or somewhere that reputed to be unstable, I know which one I'd choose if the money on offer was the same.

But then you would also go to the league above wouldn't you, where they have a better budget to pay you?

Would players really be that bothered? Its not like they stay long these days.
There's been no rumours of the players not getting paid, that's happened at other clubs.

People are bringing it back to a SISU issue, which is wages, clubs reputation(indeed Mowbray is quick to say that clubs like the way we bring their players on) ect...... In these circumstances I feel it is a management issue and therefore it is Mowbray that is culpable. The style of play is just not compatible with this league and we have to earn the right to play the way he wants to by battling the brutes that are the majority of our opponents.

I was at Blackpool last season and made comment on the fact Oggy was so influential from the touchline. Again here at Fleetwood I was able to observe again up close. It seems to me Oggy has much of the decision making while the match is in progress. He talks the tactics and shows the board to the sub coming on, he gives the encouragement to them going on and coming off, he shouts from the touchline at players, he basically has a lot of control over the way we do our business on match day.
So what's wrong here?
Well he's the goal keeping coach not the team coach? I'm surprised that he has so much sway over the match and players during the game. TM rarely gets out his seat. Now two things bug me here.
TM surely needs to show he is in control, that the players are playing for him on a match day and all enthusiastic momentum, endeavor and encouragement should be coming from him?
The second thing is what I mentioned last year. Oggy has been with us as a faithful servant for ever. I like him but he is not a manager or team coach and I just sense that some of our troubles on match days can be attributed to his influence. We pay for an experienced manager/coach to do this job and we are getting Oggy far too ingrained on a match day basis with what is or isn't happening on the pitch. Players may be confused and Page certainly was when Oggy then Venus had words from the touchline and Page shouting back and arguing before Mowbray stepped up?
I'd like to see Oggy moved sideways and concentrate on the goalkeeper coaching and be nowhere near the touchline on match days. Isn't Venus and Mowbray enough? There may be too many chefs in the kitchen on match days and TM ought to be front and centre. He must show he is making decisions during games unimpeded by Oggy or anyone else. Oggy is the common denominator on the coaching side since our slide from grace. Not saying it's his fault but with match day touchline influence he has may be a contributing factor. Can we please ask TM to step in and be seen to step in?
