Says he doesn’t understand where over 10 minutes of injury came from. I always thought he was quite a bright guy.

Awww…I always liked ol’ Mogga. For me he has the air of a hapless Last of The Summer Wine character…a 99th minute equaliser only adds to this.
“Not another 2nd half of the season collapse. Why me”?

it might also explain why the Blackburn team bus resembles a giant bathtub…

The one thing the referee got correct was the 6 minutes added the second half, two goal celebrations, a substitution number of yellow cards and injuries etc. but then as the 6 minutes we had the idiot running on game held up for perhaps a couple of minutes, a substitution and and epidemic of cramp in the Blackburn camp, one seen Matssen treating a Rovers player and then the Blackburn medics running from the corner flag by naughty corner diagonally across the pitch to give treatment. Could have been double the 6 minutes imo.

Think that’s the third time that a team has wasted time in added time and then acted astounded that the ref has added more on. You’d think they’d learn.

Hope Mowbray gives his medical team a couple days off. The amount of running on and off pitch yesterday I’m surprised they didn’t go down with cramp.

They took time wasting to a new level yesterday, I'd be embarrassed if we did that.
I actually think the ref owed us 2 or 3 more minutes.

He genuinely thinks that injuries and treatment are part of the time and not outside of the game time. Many managers do. I base that on the comment about the man running on the pitch.

To be fair, his pitch invasion, as stupid as it was, happened during yet another an ongoing stoppage for a Blackburn player feigning injury so didn't really interupt play.

Injury time is always announced as 'a minimum of' and yet people continue to not understand what words mean.

Some even call it injury time rather than added time

It's classic shift the blame rather than accept responsibility for your own shortcomings. He knows exactly where the added time came from, the majority of Blackburn fans certainly know. It's much easier to blame the ref than admit you got your tactics & selection badly wrong though. Especially as having to make early subs left them with an injured player unable to defend our equaliser.

This kind of shithousery/gamesmanship or whatever you want to call it seems to be happening with greater frequency at this level. Don’t recall teams in League 1,2 using it to this extent and don’t know if EPL teams employ this tactic. But if teams like Blackburn can’t win on merit, then screw them. I know they are reviewing the 5 subs rule this summer, but they need to also look at how to better manage this time-wasting by teams by issuing yellow cards etc.

Well we get these teams with the ability not too get the ball within the rules so then you have shit house tactics coming to the fore at least the refs play to the letter of the law time wise and there you have overtime on our games due to shithousery tactics of managers like mowbray so they get what they deserve only it isn't we know that they should be getting fuck all,but will take any point from our team of fighters in robins time.

Why don't they link the stoppage time to the scoreboard stopping everything for a sub, goal, injury or blatant time wasting.

Unfortunately it rarely is a minimum. After his absolute shit show, fair play to the ref for playing on for almost the correct amount of time.

Managers understand exactly that it's a minimum. They just choose to misunderstand if it suits them.

Think it’s for the best that our beautiful game stays away from American ways, but doesn’t the clock on scoreboards in Basketball, Ice Hockey etc. stop for every stoppage?

It’s needed. But I guess officials open themselves up to even more shtick if a goal flies in and you’re actually over the time and it’s there for everyone to see.

It would mean games would last a lot longer than they currently do - isn’t the ball only in play for about an hour, on average? It’s never going to happen.

Easily solved, you just make it like rugby whereby the final whistle doesn't go until the ball goes out of play.

So make it 2 halves of 30 minutes. Clock only runs when the ball is active. Wouldn't need a ref to manage it either & the timekeeping could be linked directly to the scoreboard so we all know where we stand.

The passage of time has probably eroded your memories, but League 2 was terrible for it. Every team that came to the Ricoh took eternities over set pieces, throw ins & substitutions. The biggest wind up for me was goalkeepers taking a minute or so to take goal kicks. Can't remember the particular game, but there was one match where the physio was also in on it too. Players kept going down 'injured' on the opposite side to the benches and the physio kept just ambling across to treat them taking up minutes that were not added on at the end of the game. Hopefully someone will remember the particular match I'm thinking of.

Didn’t see Mowbray once urging his players to get to their feet in added time just in case the ref applied the laws and added it up beyond the minimum 6mins. Didn’t see their physios berating players for trying to con the ref when they were down. FA and efl got to take a tougher stance with obvious cheating.

Bet if they were losing and the ref took account of ‘our’ time wasting and added extra minutes Mowbray would have come out and praised the ref for doing the right thing.

It's always a minimum. When have you seen a ref blow for full time before the minimum time has been reached?

How about doing that and playing 45 minutes each way, like we have for the last 100 years.
