Sheffield United chances of making the play offs are slim, Bradford and Peterborough are the ones who could make the greatest push at the top 6 from the chasing pack.

That's the first air raid over with minimal damage so have fingers crossed for Saturday's activity.

I think we need a radio phone in with the usual suspects phoning in to make it feel real.

Yes, and some very winnable games coming up, then they play Burton, Wigan, and Millwall in quick succession in March so a tough month for them, a bit like our April fixtures.

Considering Walsall have a game in hand this sat let's hope wigan beat them or ideally it's a draw.

Bradford were the favourites to go up pre-season and they do now seem to be hitting a bit of form.

Nice we've kept a bit of distance between Sheff Utd. That was a terrible result for them last night.

As I said earlier in the thread, it was probably the exact wrong time to be playing Bury because they would have got such a rollicking after our game and a reaction from them was to be expected.

Draw would be the ideal scenario, especially if we still harbour thoughts of the automatic places. Keep them both within touching distance.

There is the worry that Wigan could take one of the two automatic places and for us to catch Burton it is going to take one hell of a points swing.

That's why I think that the Wigan away fixture is pinnacle to our season going forward. If we can win there then it will be in our own hands to go into the Auto's

We need to concentrate on winning games against the teams we should be beating, something that we seem to have struggled with as a club over the years; a result against a supposedly better side was never a big surprise, especially in the PL era.

Good set of results in the short term but down to 13th only a good 4/5 game winning streak away from getting into the top 6, no harm in having more sides having something to play for into the tail end of the season!

there is always a team in form or on a tear, we shouldnt worry so much

wigan still drop pts, millwall still drop pts, sheff utd always seem to drop pts lol.

pboro and walsall also looked unstoppable but dropping pts lately

lets just focus on winning as many games as we can of our final 15 and see where it gets us

obviously come april we will all be looking at the table every day but right now i dont think we should fear other teams.

Agree with this post

I have a feeling we could go on a bit of a run now with the next 4 fixtures coming up

8-9 pts from next 12 would do nicely

I'm a bit more hopeful now we have a plan B attacking and a decent defence pairing we can hopefully keep through the season!

If we win 10 out of the 15 plus a couple of draws we will get automatic. Look at the fixtures, it is doable.
With the squad we now have I am optimistic.

They were.

I saw in two newspapers that they were predicted to go up as champions. Not talking bookies, talking in terms of journalistic predictions.

Think we are talking about two different things.

Definitely saw it in the papers. Pretty sure one was the Metro who had Bradford as champions!

There's one here. This isn't one of the ones I read pre-season though.

This article has Bradford going up as automatic.

This one has them as third.

I reckon one paper must have been the Metro, because I don't buy any papers.

Definitely down with some as one of the favourites, though looking back, the majority did indeed have Sheff Utd. as their top pick.

Maybe I should have re-worded my post to say 'one' of the favourites, rather than 'the' favourites.

I did 2 bets on the 4 league winners-

Had Bradford & Barnsley as my 2 league 1 selections!

Just done one of those predictor thingys (put in all the scores for the rest of the season and generate the final table). We went up in 2nd behind Burton, beating Wigan to it on goal difference.

Although I hasten to add, we had 12 wins, 1 draw and 2 defeats from our final 15 games. Methinks the sky-blue tinted glasses may have come into action,

Just a tad!

15 games left, I would say 10 wins with a bit of luck, then 2 draws, 3 defeats.

That would give us 84 points. That could be enough, but we would need other teams to drop points here and there for sure.
