Wan Bissaka relieved to be up against Doku instead of Tavares

De Bruyne has been poor but that’s a massive call to drag him off

Not even watching but if they concede one they’ll inevitably crumble.

I’m wondering if Varane can even play the full 90, might be a last half hour for Evans

(Simpsons inspired)

Man City: I really could go for a Fabio Tavares right about now

(when Stevenage loan him)

Yes, this should provide adequate goals for our league season

Can't remember the last time I saw two solid and narrow banks of five at any level of the game.

Say what you like about Pep, but he’s managed to suck the joy out of both Grealish and Doku’s 1v1 play in the last couple of years.

One moment in 72 minutes. Not good enough in a game like this

In fairness, Pep's teams plays a bit higher, whereas Martin's teams play about 15,000 passes in the defence

Tongue in cheek. Though today it's been too ponderous and slow, just allowing Man Utd to get set and organised.

Man City got an identical penalty for holding earlier in the season against Chelsea so wouldn’t surprise me if they’d given it

There really hasn't been the space or opportunity for him to flourish - Utd have been superb defensively.
That shouldn't really have been a problem as they were never going to keep it up for 90 mins.
Going 2-0 down when they never should have has turned this game on its head tho.

Agreed, but for his quality, he should be running this game against an average Man Utd side. He’s not been his usual self today and it’s not just Man Utd being great.

Big fan of Doku’s at Stade Rennais?

Personally I really enjoy watching him.

Space is the big factor. Spent half the game in an area of the pitch where there were about 10 players. City made it rather easy for Utd with the lack of genuine width.

Same but the last one caused such a fuss I think they scaled back giving pens for holding

I still think it seems more likely Man Utd get a 3rd than Man City get one, just has that feeling to it

I think Pep might’ve shit the bed not starting Doku. He exploits an area Man Utd have really struggled with this season.

Nice of Alex Ferguson to be at Wembley for this one instead of the VAR room

When you’ve never had to play in a rush, it’s not something you can just turn on. I can’t see them getting 2 goals in 10 or so minutes

Right as I say that Doku scores a fantastic goal
