Couldn’t care less who wins, United not to blame for the decision in the semi. the semi has gone and we were cheated out of return to Wembley today, here in Gloucestershire everyone, who I have come in contact with, knows we were cheated.
i don’t know if it was corruption or incompetence and frankly don’t care at this stage.

If it was corruption they wouldn't have given the penalty

Never thought it was corruption.
Just a rushed and incorrectly used and interpreted VAR decision.
Thet were looking for a reason to rule it out, not a reason to let it stand.
They found what they thought was an off-side.
If they had looked, guarantee there were frames they could have used (ball release argument) that showed him on side - if they drew the lines correctly too!

It felt to me that a decision was made and then they had to find a reason for the decision if it hadn’t been offside they would have kept going back until before the kick off to find something.

I was over it after a couple of days and I saved a few quid to go towards this years season tickets.

They were shitting themselves when it went to penalties as Coventry could still win - if the goal had been allowed heads would have rolled

The semi hurt, I will watch it, I already miss football. City are everything that is wrong with modern football and there's 115 reasons I can't get behind wanting them to tonk United despite what happened in the semi. Some tears for Antony wouldn't go amiss though.

See, I get this. I don't think it is a conspiracy, but I find it apt that we had two controversial VAR decisions - one that went in our favour and the other did not, which is why I don't think it's anything against us, but maybe a mentality issue on VAR's part.

The VAR decision for Simms' first against Wolves. I remember my brother finding it funny that I was getting animated in the ground at the length of time taken for VAR to review the goal shouting "if it's taking this long, it's not fucking clear and obvious then, is it?" (I am usually very mild-mannered and seek reason even in the most farcical of situations - other than people choosing Leicester City as the team to support, weird).

I watched back the game, as you do, on ITVX, just to watch it from a different perspective. To my horror, I saw that VAR seemed to go back to the ball coming in, several minutes after they found no conclusive evidence that Simms had handled the ball, and was maybe looking to try to find there was an offside.

In conclusion, VAR should NOT be trying to find reasons to overrule a decision, but just double check to ensure the ref and their assistant has not missed anything, this constant checking seems to indicate a mentality issue and once you look at something, confirmation bias may creep in also, to justify the length of time taken. I also find it annoying that the "A" in VAR stands for "assistant", so why in the holy frick is VAR overruling decisions in the first place?! But that's a whole different conversation.

It actually annoys me when people say "City" without qualification if it's Man City, unless it's Man City fans.

Man Utd have, in fairness, deserved from historical prominence the name "United/Utd" without qualification, though.

There were 3 VAR calls.

1) Handball by Wan Bissaka, results in pen and goal for Cov - given onfield, not overturned by VAR

2) Handball by Thomas, ball cleared safely - not given onfield, not overturned by VAR

3) The goal that wasn't -given onfield, overturned by VAR

Still not convinced that VAR should have intervened on that call. But the game is done, we lost.

And now, United fans are all over Twitter shouting down any attempt to even consider the alternative.

We may not have won the game. But we did win the Popular Vote.

I'm struggling between, wanting Man City to absolutely destroy Utd, or Man City score an early goal, Antony equalise in the last minute, only to have it chalked off for a bullshit VAR decision and Haland run up to him and shout in his face how he is the biggest fraud in the Premier League.

Saw a post on Twitter mentioning a Rangers post about Raphael signing for us and not them, referring to us as the Light Blues

Apologies, I wasn't talking strictly about the VAR decisions in the Semi-Final, but two decisions across the Quarter-Final and the Semi final - Simms' first goal in the Quarter-Final and the Torp winner in the Semi-Final.

However, I feel the handball given in the Semi, and I say this knowing I am biased, would have not been overturned by VAR regardless of whether it was given or not given on the field. I'm still perplexed why AWB had his arms stretched out in the first place, despite trying to retract it when the handball is given.

He was off balance, had run back and had to stop quickly as Binksy played the ball back into the danger zone. It's a natural bodily reaction to adjust your centre of gravity to prevent yourself falling forward. He realised and was trying to move his arm back when the ball struck.

I get it, it was unfortunate for the player but regardless of the situation, his arm was away from the designated silhouette of his body and the ball was diverted from its course by the impact.

Penalty, 9 times out of 10 (always be one occasion when it's not given or overturned)

I'll talk about our missing appearance but I'm not watching it.

Absolutely no interest.

Though talk is ten Hag is being sacked regardless of the result. So would be fun to see how his players react to that.

Either they play up for the departing manager

Or they don't give a crap about him, do their own thing and get slaughtered by a rampant Citeh.

No, I get that bit, but he raised his arms as the ball was coming in and was retracting his arms as Binks played the ball back in. Seemed unnatural to me (though, as I said, he was retracting his arms as the ball hit him)
