What time?

Whatever time it will be it is already 4 games too late. Why did it take so long?

I think we should all get t-shirts made to show our support on Saturday.

The message emblazoned upon them should simply be "Thank fook you're not Ince."

LOL, don't sit on the fence.

I think they wanted Ince, but he wanted too much money.

OR pieces of card with a letter on each, get the fans to hold them up spelling it out? You can never read the small print on t-shirts.

We could always chant at him "City's, City's number two, City's number two!"

Just a gentle reminder that he wasn't first choice.

I hope the reports of not being able to agree terms with Ince are rubbish. Last thing we neeed is a 2nd choice guy who knows it or perhaps this is part of the motivational master plan.

Another massive PR blunder by Fisher & Waggot - says it all really - wanted INCE but couldn't do a deal - wouldn't rock the boat with SISU to get the backing for their number one choice

Instead let it out that robins is second best in their eyes - what a start!

Surely that's the first question you ask? I'm sure they 'wanted' Pep Guardiola and Alex Ferguson, but it's obvious they were too expensive.

How inept does one need to be to first and second interview someone - knowing that the 'rumour mill' is ever liable to allow some leakage of information - the just to realise that you can't afford them?

And in the ensuing mayhem and delay, lose 4 successive league games?!?

They are smooth talkers when cornered - last weeks forum proved that

PR wise I think they are poor communicators of all things important - Summer Silence was bad for us fans, Stadium rent, contract negotiations with players, Thorn, this manager appointment

Big ask but needs to keep it simple

Whoever the new manager is I hope he / she (Ha! Ha!) keeps it simple, as this League is simple but rough.

I would play 4-4-2, big & small upfront & try to aquire some pace in the wide positions.
I would also make Sheff Captain & make him earn his keep. Stick him in centre mid just to try & control things a bit with not too much headless chicken chasing achieving nowt. Let the others do that. Stick one of the really 'fit' chasers next to him. Dare I say it a Micky Doyler type (suited to this standard).

From my view of seeing opposition this season they all keep it dead simple, run like Mo farah & kick like a mule. And most importantly appear fearless when attacking. Fannying around in the middle of the park passing back & forth looks great on Fifa 12 but not in League 1. Get the ball, get it wide & go for it!!!

'Oh, yeah, just remembered - the bloke who's been running the club for the last 4 years - Onye Igwe - has left too. Didn't we tell you?'

It is hardly beyond the realms of possibility that once threw some extra demands in when he new he was going to be offered the job.

You keep droning on about losing 4 games as if it would've better if they had kept thorn. 3 were away. You maybe forgetting but getting results away from home was not one of his strengths. At least he did stay long enough for us to know he was as clueless as buying players as he was at everything else.

At no point have I mentioned that we would have been better under Thorn. So stop trying to turn yet another thread back in the direction of your favoured diatribe.

We have lost 4 games on the bounce - we couldn't have done any worse under Willie Thorn, let alone Andy Thorn - and we've now realised after sacking the manager after 3 games and conducting an interview process over 4 games that we can't afford the bloke we've been interviewing. That's incompetence.

And if anyone's changed their stance on a given contract offered, given what I've seen and heard with Marlon King, the player's bonuses, the ground rent, ete, etc; history shows me it's more liable to be SISU changing their stance than another party

Mark Robins hmmm great. 2nd choice hardly any experience don't think he will turn our fortunes around. Sincerely hope I am wrong. I wish him all the luck in the world he will need it with sisu in charge. One thing for sure it couldn't possibly be any worse. I will be there Saturday cheering them on. PUSB

am i the only one who thinks if robins is appointed and it does seem that way, that it is a shit appointment, what has he done, hasn't he been unemployed for the past year..ffs,not like i wanted ince either,so out of 55 or so that applied and then reduced to the final 3,HE was the best prospect,oh sorry, the 2nd best prospect after ince,so we are told.then that speaks volumes really, sisu are getting what they deserve now,and rightly so,i do hope if it is robins that he does work a miracle, because thats whats needed, but im afriad i just don't see it..hardly goin to make the masses return to the ricoh.

Doesn't matter who it is. Could be Alex Fergie for all it matters. The fact is, everyone around him are clueless.

everyone keeps saying he was second choice when in fact he was probably 500th choice the fact is we could not afford the 499 people in front of him he is therefore our first choice

i thought we as fans new something about football robins as never been sacked as a manger every club he as been at he left them in a better postion the fans at both of them clubs did not want him to leave. He also had a very good playing career myself i would put him on par with the likes of dave jones and nigel adkins give him till xmas and i bet now we will be in the top ten

thats correct. From what I have seen he could do no worse. The point I am making is we need a brain / nouse there. He does have proven class, just needs to rediscover confidence & form.
I genuinely think he could do a job there. A playmaker. Let the other muppets do the running & kicking people.

I do however accept this is an off the wall suggestion.

Lets see what the new gaffer does. One thing is for sure whatever has been tried thus far does not work in this League.

edited as I too am a muppet- it's abour having Sheff as centre mid eralier in thread

Yes its funny how people think Ince who has won promotion is crap and Robins who hasn't is good. Its all very black and white and yet how many times has anyone seen a Paul Ince or Mark Robins team play to really offer any opinion at all. I've spoken to guys from Barnsley at various companies I visit in the area and his brand of footy wasn't the best and they improved a lot once Robins left. He's not missed at all.

We've got him now so we've got to get behind him but until the appointment is official I can still moan about it.
