I know I’ll get a lot of grief for this but I wish more of this happened so this archaic nonsense will stop

Absolute c**t.

I know you disagree with racing and I've paid money to horse charities in your name, but fuck off.

Fucking hell Grendel!!!

Have a fucking word, the young lad was just trying to earn a living, his family will be devastated.

Whatever your opinions on the sport, you can still be human and have some empathy, the poor lad didn't deserve this.

There is no consideration for the sentient beings forced to participate - my sympathy is with them

Would rather be bred for sport than to eat. You're not vegetarian as we put up with your hypocritical shite every year. Bore off and hopefully the forum can rejoice at your death at some point soon.

I am pescetarian and do consume dairy products - not that this really is relevant as I also campaign for CWF as I accept that people will eat animals but need to be educated on welfare. Proper organic animal farming gives the animals a quality of life far better than horses who race.

I value a horses life on a par with the person whipping it.

Your response is petulant and rather over emotional.

They are race horses bred to race, that's far more natural than dogs (for example) that were bred for a purpose and now used purely as household pets with no purpose.

The difference between hose racing, and bear baiting or fox hunting is that horses arnt intentionally bred to be harmed.
Occasionally a horse or jockey is injured in the process of the sport, but that can also happen in any sports, footballers occasionally collapse and die playing their sport, same for rugby players etc etc, that doesn't mean that the sports should be banned.

The irony is, if horse racing was banned many of the animals would be destroyed, as a lot of thoroughbreds arnt suitable for "normal" livery yards.

Also, you can have sympathy/concern for the horses, without the lack of empathy you clearly have for the young jockey who tragically lost his life at such a young age.

That's all I have to say on the subject, I won't be engaging on it any further.

Then the logical response would be to take measures to reduce the risk, like lower the fences, or reduce the number of runners reduce the distance they run, etc,
Not the knee jerk reaction of banning the entire sport.

And that doesnt take away your response about the young jockey losing his life.
