Honestly they played us probably at the best time (especially at match at the end of Dec). If they played us now, I think we may be able to get at least a draw. Anyway, just glad we got those games out of the way and hope either Millwall or Boro make the autos along with us. Don’t want Ipswich to go up automatically.I will concede that they have better footballers than us. We are a better more consistent team.
I’ve had a pretty hefty bet the last 3 years spread across us winning the league & finishing top 2 & top 3What would be more interesting is, who put a bet on at the beginning of the season for us to win the league.
And at what odds.
If it was closer, yes. I’ve had months to prepare myself for the moment. It’s more an expectation that we’ll win the league now whereas top 4 would’ve been a greatAnyone else got a cry ready if it happens?
If you haven’t had a tear already you’re made of stoneAnyone else got a cry ready if it happens?
Fuck me, please post in the morning so we know you’re okOpened a bottle of milk that I've had stored in the freezer for 3 years. It was meant to be an experiment over 10 years. But I went fully mental tonight and defrosted it, mixed it with some rum and now I feel very chill.
I thought can it get any worse than this .
Happy to help RobbieEven if you’re all cunts most of the time
Finally. A brain in East Anglia.from the Ipswich board :-
Today is the day they have decisively moved out of our reach. We may have beaten them twice but they've been much more consistent than us, well done to them.
fair comment from them.
Anyone else got a cry ready if it happens?
I’ll be an emotional wreck!Anyone else got a cry ready if it happens?
I’ve cried already when we beat Boro so I’m definitely going to lose it big time. Apologies in advance to those around me in block 16. I think a few will be crying too mind. Just a question of whether it’s refined tears or full on sobsAnyone else got a cry ready if it happens?
A surreal and incredible feeling as 25 years of mostly unmitigated crap is on the verge of being put to rights. If I could bottle it up I would, as it is I’ve stowed it all away in the footballing wank bank as and when things get tough next season.
People all around me just staggered at half time all saying ‘this doesn’t happen to clubs like us’ and almost struggling to believe it. The bigger the struggle the sweeter the success. Savour it and don’t forget it.
Just tried to soak it all in yesterday. We have had ridiculously cruel playoff defeats in 2 of the last 3 seasons, watching other fans celebrate like mad, sandwiched by VAR cheating us at Wembley of the greatest Cup comeback of all time.At this point, the only people with any kind of doubts we are going to do it are within our fan base. That's what happens after literally an entire generation length has gone by with turmoil followed by more turmoil.
The last few years have been good, but we've also had our fair share of bad luck at crucial moments. Play off final, cup semi-final, etc.
Everyone else outside thinks we've done it, and we basically have. What, two more wins needed maybe? It is frankly unbelievable. I am so fucking proud to be a Coventry fan right now. We should all try and consciously remember these moments. These are our days in the sun (until we qualify for Champions League).
I swore the game kicked off at 1715... not 1988!!!Was out yesterday for a pre-birthday celebration and watched the match on my phone in a wine bar
For me, the turning point came the following season but Wembley ‘17 showed that we still had the potential to be a “big club” and that SISU hadn’t quite managed to kill us off!Having supported Cov since 1978 - I have to say the real turning point for me was when we won at wembley in 2017 - yes there were some real lows after that - but it just felt that we were going to finally turn a corner and something felt a bit different.
Leicester actually went the same way as Villa in 1987 in 1987. I started working in Leicester just before we began our FA Cup winning run, Leicester got relegated. Happy days indeedHow the footballing gods play with our emotions. It seems if Coventry City win a major trophy the gods deem one of our rivals has to suffer. Will Leicester go the same way as Villa in 1987. Time will tell. Meanwhile, let’s all enjoy the ride. It doesn’t get much better in footballing terms.
