We just don’t have the quality. On song and fit that team has no Kelly, Lati, Palmer, etc. And there’s still questions about GK, CBs and CM. It’s a half built squad basically. Once you lose two or three players, particularly quality players, we lose the edge.

We need to sign 5/6 first team quality players and another 4/5 who have the potential to reach that. We probably have to spend half as much again as we did last summer, if not more.

This I agree with, and keep saying it, we need a bigger squad! (With some quality additions).

We were on the back foot tonight no matter what against a better team with 3 or 4 regulars out .. but we do so many basic things wrong it's fuck all to do with fatigue it's just a good old fashioned being shit

Will be interesting how Robins would do with a bigger squad. Especially when he starts to bomb certain players out or gets stubborn.

Very worrying, he has another 3 years. I hope there is a load of potential he has yet to reveal.

Despite this pile of fatigue…should have got something tonight and last Wednesday.

Giving away terrible goals in the first 10 minutes isn’t tiredness, it’s carelessness. Arsing around at the back isn’t tiredness, it’s an instruction. Passing sideways in front of 11 opposition players isn’t tiredness either, it’s indecision. Has been this way for months.

Keep telling the players they are tired and they will believe it.

Our best chance is to free him from defensive duties and convert him to a wide attacking player.

Agree to a point, but I think the extra games have had a massive affect on our league form.
But the sakamoto injury and our defending in the last couple of months gave also played in to it admittedly

Not so much tiredness at all now but motivation. This lot are on the beach, a yard too slow and passing for the sake of it.
Got to sort the defence out, our centre backs are worth a goal a game to any team. Da Silva is ok with the ball forward but along with Latibeaudiere is a liability at the back.

MR started to talk about fatigue as far back February, post match v Stoke City. It became our default mindset, the reality is we have played 2 or 3 games more than most other Championship sides.

If you want a bigger squad, which any sane person would, then talking about fatigue to the media is pretty much par for the course in the hope the chairman is paying attention.

It's possible for some of the things you've mentioned to be correct and for fatigue to be a factor, it doesn't have to be one or the other.

But I will keep banging on about squad size, if we don't increase it we won't go anywhere.

Squad is definitely lacking leadership and drive and that’s meant we could drop off mentally and physically where if you had a Fadz or Doyle type on the pitch they wouldn’t allow it.

Bit pissed off that 7 points out of our last three games would have seen us right in the top 6 when it looked unlikely!

So you don't think they can be any correlation between doing basic things wrong and fatigue....

Even though the amount of basic things we've got wrong seems to be increasing the more games we have to play in a shorter amount of time...

Not sure that's relevant to my post but Robins has mentioned playing through injuries a few times.
Sounds as though we have an issue with players not prepared to grin and bare mi or knocks, but that's reading between the lines
I think that's a very old-school view MR (and AV) have taken from their playing days.

That's why a lot of players had to retire early 30's - because these 'minor knocks' added up and next thing they know they're fucked as a professional athlete.

Look at Dabo. Played through injury and the pain barrier and where's it got him? Career almost over because his body can't cope due to the injuries. I've got back and shoulder problems because I 'grinned and beared it' when I'd got minor injuries when I was younger.

'Playing through a knock' is short-sighted macho bollocks.

Definitely agree about Da Silva, Palmer i think makes more sense as he knows Ohare wont be here next season and i suspect wanted a good look at Palmer so he can make a decision about that no 10 role (i.e how much to be asking for to spend).
Id keep Palmer as a back up, but clearly we need better in that position, significantly better.

New GK
2 x experienced CBs
new DCM as back up to Sheaf/Eccles
new no.10 (if we play same system)
new ST as back up to Simms
New LB as competition to Bidwell

That is 7 players and a minimum spend of around £12m. We are totally reliant on Gyokeres sale

Do why did he agree to let Fadz go then. Robins is the architect of the majority of this tiredness. His use of substitutes is piss poor at best. There have been numerous occasions this season when he could and should have done something with the subs. Today was just another example.
It’s true Robins has been the saviour of this club but somethings he needs to look in the mirror to see what the problem is.

Da Silva playing so many games ahead of Bidwell cost us promotion possibly. Robins got that call massively wrong.

I don't think we could have played Fadz in a 4 and if he had the chance for 1st team football and wanted to take it then I dont think you can stand in his way but we're clearly missing his leadership.

We have no natural leader . As someone posted before we could do with a player with a nasty streak . I would like to see an older experienced CB maybe on loan to help address the defensive issues.
