I’m baffled by how poor we are at the moment.

I have supported the Sky Blues for over sixty years and MR is arguably the best manager we have had in all that time. I refuse to believe that he has become a bad manager almost overnight.

We have lost O’Hare and Palmer but overall I would say the squad has been strengthened a bit over the summer. We certainly have more depth than we have had in a very long time.

I am coming round to the view that the changes in the back room staff (the loss of Lawrence and AV, the new coaches and recruitment team and the appointment of a performance director) are behind our dip. MR just doesn’t seem to be in control in the way he once was, which must surely be down to DK.

I fear that MR’s days are numbered but to those who want him gone I say be careful what you wish for. I don’t think appointing a novice manager or a more experienced one who has been sacked by another club will be the answer, even if we get a short “new manager bounce”.

Looks to me as if MR is having his authority diluted by so many coaches, who in reality, have very little experience at this level. He needs to try and get these players hardened up and fighting for the shirt and having these “ipad” coaches supporting him doesn’t look to be the way. The players are mostly the same and so is MR, so where is the difference being made?

It might be Robins can’t work in this culture and Doug finds someone who can?

Any case. Loss to Luton at home and I think he’s gone anyway.

This is it unfortunately.

I don't think Doug has ruined the culture of the club but he's completely changed it.

We are trying to become a well run, well organised and more professional unit. Robins worked well under tough circumstances where he and his limited staff has to overcome hurdles.

Robins has now got everything he used to moan about. A good pitch. Big name players not being sold (although they have been released), a proper training ground, money to add depth to the team. Let's not forget, it's less than 2 years since we turned up at Burnley and had to put a second keeper on the bench alongside Reid, Howley, Nee and Burroughs.

Robins always had the mantra in interviews to talk about 'being up against it' because other sides spent money and had depth. He hasn't got that line to fall back on anymore.

I am desperate for Robins to turn it around but it feels like we have outgrown him or at least moved away from his strengths. He's the greatest manager in my lifetime and will look forward to his statue being built.

Just re-watched some of last nights game then I watched a clip of Viks goal last night!
Trust me - this goal was one of his best, typical Vik - what it has made me think about though is how far away our current strike force is now - has his money been spent wisely?
Im not so sure.
BUT - LOOK UP LAST NIGHTS SPORTING GOAL - AS GOOD A VIK GOAL AS YOU WILL EVER SEE.
At least that cheered me up (a bit)!

Sort of goal Haji could score if he put a bit more graft into using his body.

Simple question?
Why would an owner or manager sabotage the back room team that could have stayed together and become a real force with the managers apparent agreement and then when it doesn't work out and everything goes to shit ,we have to understand what is behind that re-organistion.!

How many chances did he get last night, then Saturday from a very similar area, he's never going to be exactly like Vik, but he's doing ok for me and will be moving on some point this season, maybe time for him to go home and focus on his international aspirations?

I’d given him until may. he‘s earned the right to get us out of this, can’t go from one of our best managers ever to sacked after 11/12 games, so we might not get play offs but we’re not going down either,

The chopping and changing can't help.

We need to settle on an 11 and let it play out for a decent amount of games. 3-4-3 would be ideal, we need to cover for JDS defensive deficiencies or alternatively play 4 at the back and station Binks out there.

It is!

If, and that's a big if, we can turn it around we could still make the playoffs. You only need to be within 5 or so points come Jan/Feb to make a good crack at it.

I think it really is time for back to basics, first job. Don't loose to Luton Saturday.

Big coaching teams are the future. I really don’t think anyone can argue with that, looking at the top teams in the world.

I don’t think Robins has become a bad manager, he just might not have the right skills for that kind of system.

We have taken 11 games to get our first 9 at that rate bearing in mind we have to play 4 of the top 6 in the next 11 how long are the next 9 going to take and thats only to get where 6th place is now .Only 1 of those teams is below us as well.IMO IF we got to anything like lower mid table by Christmas that would be some achievement.
If that keeps MR in a job not sure.

we won’t keep playing like this, one games all it takes and we normally do better against the better sides ( I won’t mention the Leeds game ) its Prob the first game Saturday where not many give us a chance, we normally play our best then, we’ll be fine just stick with it,

We were underdogs against Leeds away this season. "Free hit" people said.

People saw us as dark horses for a top 6 finish, no one had us down as red hot favourites.

Good news is now we're bottom 3 we will be underdogs in every game.

Most of the neutral outlets had us finishing top 6 pre-season. In fact, a lot of them had us top 4.

"we won't keep playing like this" we had one against Blackburn followed it up with 1 point in 3 games against mediocre opposition there is no "normal" in football ."we normally do better against the better sides" myth the 7 side that finished above us last year W4 L8 D2 if my counts right.

I personally think Robins has so much credit in the bank with fans, the majority would back him even if we were relegated. That's largely an emotional decision.
Doug has a business decision. Relegation will be hugely damaging to the club. Can he oversee that without trying a new manager?
