You mean only 1 chance on target! That doesn't alter the fact that Simms, Eccles, Bassette and Wright had relatively easy chances to score but fluffed them.

In isolation yesterday's performance wasn't too bad, and I think a draw would have been a fair outcome. However on the back of another poor start to the season, losing again to a team most of us regard as a bit 'meh' has had an understandable reaction.

Take the points about Milne, Sexton etc. Personally I’d include Sillett. But for every one of those there has been a Mackay, Neal, Butcher, Dowie, Slade etc etc. Changing manager is no guarantee of change of fortune. And King has no track record of getting anything right either.

King has a track record of getting most things right.

Off the pitch the club is in the best shape it’s been for at least 40 years

Not sure pinning the failure on the pitch completely on King is fair

Err do you only think a shot that was on target counts when looking at missed chances? 9 times out of 10 I’d bet on Bassette putting away his chance. A header like Thomas’s would probably be a goal 7 or 8 times out of 10. Wrights disallowed goal would have stood 5 times out of 10. Etc..

My point is about margins of yesterday’s game. Defensively we let another soft goal in, and we have let many poor goals in this season that were defensive errors and poor positioning. Those goals we’ve let in have cost us points, no question about it at all.

Positives for me yesterday were that on the whole we looked tighter and less like a sieve.

King really does seem to have gone to ground though, feels like he is hanging MR out to dry. If that's the case and it's true about the personal stuff going on, then he's really being let down.

Probably one of the worst teams in the league right now. I get why people argue that Robins has done enough at the club in his tenure to deserve time but how much time is the real question. People thought there was a realistic chance opportunity of automatic promotion at the start of the season, and most thought playoffs were basically a certainty. However, it's the end of October, and it looks more likely to be a relegation scrap and I'm not sure the players even have the fight for that.

Well a lot of it is subjective. However the shite the likes of Ringpiece Of Steel and Cally Fedora come out with is nonsense most of the time. They also have a dig st anyone they disagree with, particularly that prick Ring Of Steel. At least when Grendel has a go at someone it’s funny.

Whichever you choose to blame, King or MR, this comes down to recruitment.
No midfield flair, no guts, no leadership, no experience, no fight, and light numbers wise yet again.
The recruitment has been naive.
Personally, I think they rolled the dice on either Vik or Gus moving and benefiting from that. Neither moved and the cash ran out.
Midfield should have been the priority though.

I don’t get this utter bollocks of feeling sorry for Robins.

he’s had £45m to spend, he has final say on incming transfers, he chose Austin , chose his back room team, had the training facilities totally upgraded and gets 25,000 fans cheering on the team every home match.

No Cov manager has had it this good in 25 years.

I really hope he turns it round but let’s not pretend he’s some kind of victim.

The free market needs to be looked at and get them in asap . What we have out on the pitch is just not good enough. League 1 at best yep that’s right we got most of them from league 1 and we’re playing like we’re in League 1 .

I know a lots been said about Doug but if I'm honest. I don't think he's up there to blame atm.

Some weird decisions on the football side I get but 1) A performance director is pretty standard across multiple teams and serve the role of ensuring best methods and facilities as well as future planning.

2) We have no idea what happened with Adi. Some would argue they didn't get on which is a weak reason and is clearly backfiring but we also could of been put into a corner if Adi behaved like some people have posted.

3) The amount of coaches is quite common for this division, looking at numbers. Still early to discuss how good/bad they are in general but all most of done well in interviews with Robins commenting on it. Hard decisions to be made in my opinion here but feel backing Robins with more staff is a hard stick to beat him with again without knowing more on Adi.

4) Recruitment is the big issue at the moment. This is where I think Doug holds blame, the no loan policy isn't in my opinion and issue as it would just compound a issue we have at the moment and doesn't seem 100% for me considering us having loans last year as well as targeting two this year but it's an experience issue. Having a young squad can be a positive and can be done in footballing terms. But having no leaders what so ever is very dangerous. I do believe they care (on reflection) and they'll be hurting but they don't have the life experience most of them to pull themselves out of the rout. If I'm Doug, if the recruitment has been given a no one older than rule, he needs to rethink this. If they haven't he needs to tell them to work with Robins and ensure he has experience and leadership in the squad.

5) But ultimately even with our recruitment, this squad should be doing loads better and that goes back to the Manager, Coaching team, and players. I don't know if Robins is able to get through to them as he seems to be struggling to get the players in the right headspace, the players look like they don't understand what's going on and some look like there trying to do everything and overthinking or snapping.

I think this is where I disagree with fans. You can argue Doug has made bad decisions and with some caveats sure, but Robins two years ago had his star CB sold for 1.5 million so the club didn't go under. Compare that to this window where we rejected a offer of 7-9 million for MVE. It's easy to blame others but think the uncomfortable truth here is, Mark should be getting more out of this lot.

Bassette looked the most likely to score or create that's why 2 players drew yellow cards against him, give the lad 90 minutes, players like him grow into the game where as Simms looked woeful, the only time I remember him touching the ball was when it brushed his hair from 6 yards out. Bassettes chance wasn't as straight forward as people seem to think, the Preston player had a similar chance and his fizzed just wide too

Also I would add, we are not the same club we were before. We've spent a fortune in doing up the training, we spend large funds for where we are. I don't think managers wouldn't apply or be interested in the role if it came available. All though I'd hope if the club is debating the issue, they would be looking into some targets.

Annoying he didn't but he's young, wants to get his first. You see why he would try and smash it in. One of the positives I thought in the first 30 was how dangerous we looked on the break but think this fizzled out when Preston moved into a box which limited space up front.

I mean, again factually he is a L2 / L1 manager, he’s not really managed in the championship before us and most of his career and success in management was lower league - he has previously struggled at this level and also hasn’t ever managed in the premier league…

what is your obsession with ‘lies’ over other people’s opinions??

When asked about dovin , Robins said " apparantly he's a good keeper "

If you think robins is identifying and signing these players , I've got some magic beans to sell you

He might be saying yes or no , but let's be honest most of the work is done by recruitment and that will still happen should Robins leave

Isn’t this how it’s mostly always been done though. Scouts recommend players and managers and directors sign off? Nothing really new imo.

Sure but to suggest Mark robins has spunked 45 million is not just false but also letting the recruitment team completely off the hook .

He's clearly having less and less say in who is coming and going
