FA Cup is over for this season and a was a nice distraction.

Now Robins needs to concentrate on getting this team back to winning ways. With today's game that's 4 games on a trot we have lost.

Robins needs to think very carefully about the tactcis and formations to get the best out of some average players. We have some good ones.

Failure to get out of L2 this year will be a major blow.

That winning mentality needs to return double time.

If he could gaurantee a fit Carl Baker on the right from around 3seasons ago I wouldn't hesitate even on a pay as you play basis.

I'm not hopeful at all for the next two games and I think any promotion challenge will be over if we don't get 3-4 points from them.

If you look at the 'where will we finish' thread you will see that the autos have all but completely gone. We are now 12 points off 3rd. That is absoulutely huge and all but impossible unless we went and won something like 7 or 8 games in a row.

We are still 3 points off the playoffs, but are now 7 points off 6th place, so all we can target for now is 7th.

I'm shocked we are now 12 points off the autos. That's awful

On the 30th Jan it was just 1 point, so in less than 3 weeks it has gone from 1 to 12.

That's what I mean. I know we lost 3 in a row but that is punishing

We have lost every game, others have been winning.

It's where the play for the draw tactic that Robins wants to use won't work any more, we need to win.

Yep, agree. If only we had pulled out some draws from all those away games we lost.

Yep, it's like a double smack in the chops. As if losing 3 in a row wasn't bad enough, to then look at the table and see us cut totally adrift makes it even more painful.

I ruled out Automatics after that awful FGR game anyway. Safe to say they are long gone now unless we pull something amazing out of the bag and everybody else has shockers.

7th is certainly the target. A draw in the Notts Newport game wasn’t a disaster but would’ve rather see Notts win it. Mansfield winning at Exeter was a positive too.

Not going to happen is it.

Let's say we win the next 7, that'll be 21 points. the likes of Accrington, one of the teams 12 points ahead, would only need 3 wins and could afford 4 defeats out of 7 just to match that.

Autos have gone. Sad, but true. Are we really capable of say 6 or 7 wins in a row?

To get nothing from the next two matches and it is going to be a tough ask to make the playoffs.

We have 14 matches left and need at least 21 points possibly 24. Lose against wycombe and Mansfield and that means we need 7 wins at least from 12 games. That's form we haven't shown of late.

It is not impossible but next few games are this season's cup finals for a team that is not free scoring, has lost some confidence, started leaking goals, with a manager defensive tactically on the back foot.

Still in our hands for now

It is, but we have to start going at teams trying to win rather than this waiting until we are losing nonsense. That's why we are seeing teams like Wycombe winning.

It needs some drastic changes and a bit of balls to be shown.

I recall Robins saying we had 16 cup finals ahead of us. We lost the first 3 of those. We need to stop feeling sorry for ourselves and battle and fight for wins.

This season has a familiar ring to it and we simply cannot let that happen again.

I think he can offer more than Barrett on the left and I am not sure about Bayliss on the right at all.

I firmly believe we are stuck in this league for next season at least. I would doubt we can even make the bloody play-offs now. And even if we did, I doubt we'd get favourable results. Ah well. Another season of a non-top six finish.

Sorry so who played Central today?
Do we expect Doyle back for next Week, choice to be made if so
Bayliss should not be utilised out wide IMO .

As it stands I don't think we would beat Swindon or Mansfield.

I know we have beaten Swindon twice, but they were definitely one of the best teams we have faced this season and we all know Mansfield are much fancied.

We need something from both the next two fixtures really, preferably a win and a draw. Can't honestly expect two victories I don't think. Even two draws could leave us further adrift.

Shipley and Kelly were in the middle for most of it today with Bayliss on the right and Barrett on the left.

When Robins took Barrett off for Biamou he nudged everybody over so Shipley was on the left and Bayliss was in the middle.

Just wondering if it is worth having a stab at Biamou on the left, Reid on the right , Doyle and Bayliss in the middle and JCH and McNulty up top.

I really fucking worry about robins.

All this stuff about stability is bollocks as well. He is either stubborn as fuck to the point he won’t change things even when he knows he needs to but it’s too arrogant, or he just can’t see the blatant stuff everyone else can.

Not sure which is worse

Well that's the thing against the argument of not sacking him because of needing stability.
If he steadfastly refused to change things when we can all clearly see something is wrong, why would we believe that he would change things next season?

Even the commentators today were baffled as to what tactics we were deploying.

It isn't a stable 11 though is it, he changes the goalies every so often. He drafts in either DKE when he feels like it then they vanish again. JMD comes in then vanishes as does Barrett.

He changes players, but not the system even if it means playing them out of position.

Reid needs to be on the left, Biamou did come on on the right and had a few good touches and some link up play.

No idea if he can whip a cross in though.

I would try 4-1-2-1-2 with grimmer, Willis, McDonald , Haynes. Doyle just in front. Then Kelly and Baylis...one pushing on the other sitting. Mcnulty begins and running off JCH and biamou. Reid and ponticelli off bench. We have to go for games now we are playing catch up.
