I do the same as you as do many others, we buy tickets. Nobody follows SISU. However, you do something that a lot of others don't, you follow Wasps.

I follow Coventry City football team (not Sisu Hedge fund).
I follow Wasps Rugby team (not Wasps Holding Company)

Hold on. You can't have it both ways. If you accuse others of following SISU then by the same twisted logic you follow a Maltese Hedge Fund.

This is exactly why this thing is never going to work.

One says the threat is Wasps, another says Sisu, another says Wasps, Sisu and CCC.

We can't even sing from the same hymn sheet and that is why this is protest thing is never going to work unfortunately.

Blackpool is easy, fans against owner. This here is Sisu, Higgs, Wasps, CCC, with so many fans with opposing views and little consensus of opinion.

Dead right. Which is why the campaign can only achieve unity if it focuses 100% on the thing we do all agree about - that CCFC should continue to have a Cat 2 academy in Coventry. Insist that all parties work to achieve it. We shouldn't care too much how it happens, as long as it happens. And if we can get a result out of this one narrow issue, maybe then we can start to think about making progress on a wider front. Perhaps some of the parties might even find working together a refreshing change?

Yeah it's about pushing for all the potentially positive things to become reality, and that includes academy, new ground etc.

Forget the tedious tittle tattle, it's all about what could be.

Disagree, they will talk deal if it was empty surely? At present it doesn't matter who owns ccfc as there are limited options. The best we can hope for is an extended deal at th Ricoh.

I wouldnt be surprised it the swimming pool and the wasps development are all inter linked, as they've already agreed to let CSF have small amount of community use of the kicking barn as the swimming pool is going. That will no doubt be mentioned when they put in planning app for the swimming pool. And actually CSF have served notice on us because they have replaced us by wasps so it is all linked

I agree with you on this Stupot - it’s unimaginable that the Wasps plans and the swimming pool are somehow happening independently, and along with the Higgs clause it just looks like the kind of stitch-up they should all be ashamed of. That’s why I feel differently about this than I do about the stadium (for which I find it hard to look beyond SISU for blame).

If as a result of the developments, the Academy can’t be sustained at Allard Way, I think CSF and CCC need to show how it can be accommodated elsewhere. I think it’s only right that SISU would be expected to contribute financially to that, but with all possible support from CSF & CCC.

Which brings me back yet again to my opinion that the current Trust campaign should focus ONLY on retaining the Academy. Just look at the bickering in every single thread on here – there is zero chance of uniting around anything bigger.

Any notion of “let’s fight the lot of them” is madness, no matter how tempting it is.

Italia just doesn't seem to grasp this most critical simplistic fact.
Never mind let's get SISU out at all costs, no new owner would get more revenue like Torch says because Wasps simply can not afford to as they have a 40 million bond to repay soon.

Just some slightly off-topic questions for clarification (I have no idea how an academy is set-up):

Are there restrictions about where an academy can be based? that is, does it have to be in the general Coventry area? Or, could one based just "nearby"?

Can the Academy be shared at another clubs facilities for short-term? Or is it required to have it's own facilities?

I'll probably have more follow-up questions soon, but maintaining an Academy should still be in SISU's own best self-interest regardless

There has to be some sort of limit, don't know what it is through.

Sharing isn't allowed. You have to have exclusive use of the facilities. Their is a desire at the moment to reduce the number of academies so I doubt we'd get much assistance from the authorities to do something temporary.

I got a question folks..

Someone must know the answer...

What is the IT technology that the League determines to be okay for performance analysis of a team as a whole?

Just curious.

Doubt it. There's no standard system is there, each club uses whatever they want. There's things like Opta but that wouldn't be much use in a professional capacity.

If CCFC pay Wasps for access to some of the revenues, that’s still revenue for Wasps isn’t it? I’m not clever enough to know whether or how that could work in practice.
But I agree, Wasps are unlikely to give revenues to CCFC.

It won't work. Wasps will only want profit for them. It actually doesn't matter who owns the club they will want the profit.

The two clubs can never co exist. Wasps do know if the club every made it up the leagues then we'd have a bigger profile. Would they hand a penny over for that? No they'd take all the revenues associated with the premier league benefits with sponsorship etc.

They could do a 10 year naming rights deal and say if CCFC were a premier league club the sponsor pays millions more - all to wasps.

They will give the club nothing. Long term tenancy at the Ricoh under wasps has to be avoided.

Yeah makes little sense in a way. The wasps share of the f&bs are worth £75k, for example will wasps want to sell that £75k for less than £75k? Say wasps get £200k pa extra stadium sponsorship becusse we're there, are they going to let us have it or buy thay £200k for less? Dont think so. We were once quoted £24m for access matchday f&b's based...

One day you will have to get over your blind hatred of CCC. You also have to look past the comments made by Fisher.

So what do you think that we should do about having somewhere to play? You say no long term deal at the Ricoh. I suppose it fits in with not having to stop all litigation to be able to start talks. But we need to secure our future. Are you saying that we shouldn't plan more long term because of the pie money?

Ok Grendel. What do you say we should do realistically?

Stay at the Ricoh but only short term because of the pie money? I can only see it being short term because of the ultimatum given by Wasps. SISU won't give up on the litigation just to try and save our club.

Butts. So you want SISU to pay to upgrade the place? There are too many problems IMHO. It won't be easy to get the planning through. CCC doesn't like or trust SISU. Residents will moan like fuck. CRFC don't want a ground miles too big for themselves. We don't want a ground too small. Would CRFC want to hand over the stadium to SISU once the work is done? Would SISU pay out a lot of millions on a stadium that isn't theirs if they wouldn't spend similar on taking on the Ricoh?

OK how about building a stadium...... If 3 weeks is really 3 years and still counting how long would 3 years be? Looks like it would have to be outside Coventry. And does anyone see SISU paying for a stadium to be built?

Right. Now to the nitty gritty. Where would we all like to ground share? Would we get the pie money?

Yes to me it is starting to look as we will be homeless soon. But it doesn't matter because SISU can blame CCC and CCC can blame SISU. And while most people are arguing over which side out of the two is at fault Wasps quietly take everything over.

Yes I pay my money and it's been an enjoyable investment.
With Sisu in charge I guess CCFC is an inconvenience. Sisu expect everything, invest nothing and aimlessly fight everybody.
Competition ? IMHO this area is big enough for CCFC, Wasps and CRFC. The 'we can't have it so no one can have it' attitude isn't going to work.
CCFC/Sisu need 'realistically' to plan our future. The mixed messages over the past 4 years and inability to talk means things will just move on without us.
Even now I don't know what we want. As I see it ........
  • Up until a few weeks ago we were not committing to the Academy past 2017. Wasps put in application for extending the Higgs and all of a sudden it appears we want to also bring the first team there.
  • We keep talking about a new stadium and more recently we are now looking at the BPA. I'm expecting Wasps to plan without us when any major changes take place. I would guess when the seats need changing Sisu will a few days later say 'we wanted to move in full time'.
It's all Sisu playing a game with our club and they need to go. Nobody should give them any air.

To show a united front that the football club and it's supporters condemn wasps for their action regarding the Higgs Centre and its decision to suspend talks regarding the Ricoh.

It might be an idea if we actually start to raise the issue. The headline in the national paper about insect invasion is just what we need but a lot more of it.

It's probably pointless reminding you again, but you do realise that they haven't actually 'invested' any of their own money in this project?

They have put in loads of other people money which they've borrowed on the pretence that they will keep on re-borrowing to repay the last lot of money they borrowed.

Do Sisu want us to do this because I am unclear what the plan is ?
Can you say with any confidence what the Sisu plan is for the Higgs or whether the 17 point plan was acceptable.
I hate to fight for the talks to start and one of the 17 points was that CCFC are sold ACL.

Most companies in the country are owned by other people who have bought shares in it.
The indication of whether they are a good investment or not is reflected in there value.
Wasps shares are still worth more than the starting value.

Probably an idea to raise awareness of Wasps abd SISU's action.

Firstly you may actually stand a chance of uniting everyone.
Secondly you may get some national attention.

It won't look great to the National Newspapers if they ask Wasps fir a comment before going to print. Then Wasps turn around and say yes we suspended talks over the Ricoh until the legal action has seen it course (sounds reasonable)
Then they say regarding the academy up until 6 weeks ago the football club were building their own academy. They still talked about it a few weeks ago.

Raising awareness of the actions of both the club and Wasps would be a far more successful approach

I would love it they said that they'd only continue if sisu stopped any legal action against the council.

They would then show themselves to be against democratic process.

You guys can keep pointing it out if it makes you feel better.
But I won't stop me putting over the reality of our situation.
I'm trying to be realistic in our predicament and in an attempt to get Sisu to take some action to protect our future.
You and a few on here just regurgitate the past and just keep passing the hair shirt around.
You can't seem to comprehend how we got here, can't accept the damning JR verdict and give the impression of backing Sisu in continuing their silly mind games.
