I've started watching Quantum Leap again every night at 6pm, now that my Freeview finally gets ITV4. Maybe I'm just giddy with nostalgia after just watching the one where Sam tries to save his brothers life in 'Nam, but I really do think it is possibly the best TV programme ever made

I heard it

TF said he always knew with our books there was never going to be a bounce back budget. He made that up in order to try and sell season tickets.
He also said the reason we get linked with players and never actually sign them. Is due to the fact that if the player is any good, then if you publically announce it. A more tempting club will take an interest and swoop. This way you give the perception of working hard at getting in new signings but you never have to financially commit.
He said if he really wanted to sign someone he would keep it very quite.
He went onto explain that he has taken a very serious interest in the fleck situation. However he clarified that this is not with view to signing him. It is purely research for the future about what happens in these situations.
So it was quite boring really same old same old......

But he didn't say "No, there was never going to be a bounceback budget, I just made that up to sell season tickets", did he? The second bit is what you think-well, what we all know, frankly!

Did he really admit to the first sentance, because if he did admit he told a blatent lie, surely he could get himself into trouble over that.

He falsely claimed something that was never going to happen in the hope some people would buy tickets, is'nt that fraudelent. Is it not the same as me claimimg that I run a very successful bond paying 20 % more than others in the hope people invest in it.

People have invested there money in the hope there was a bounce back budget for new players to get us promoted, so have'nt they a claim to get there money back if they so wished to ?

Is this serious? Maybe we will unveil the double signing of Norwood and Fleck tomorrow and cue a rush for people to buy ST

I am assuming Dongo's post was sarcastic

Ah, happy memories..anyone remember The Pink frontpage "Who's This? City's New Signing?!?.." with the picture of him without the wig on the inside? Genius. The local journalism has fallen just as far as the club of late

Fisher expects players to be coming in over the next few weeks.

He also admits fans will see some players leave but they have higher ambitions so we can't do anything about it. So, that means Cranie and Keogh are off.

We are pushing the limit on the player budget this year. Fair play rules. I reckon about £2-3m on squad (my calculation from what he said).

Great coaching team now.

Upto what Thorn does with the squad over the next few weeks with the players coming in if he can get us a top 6 finish.

When he jogged on the pitch I genuinely thought for a few minutes who the hell is that?

Just listened: the bit in bold entirely contradicts OSB's analysis of the situation.

Oh and I now understand what dongonzalos meant: he doesn't say in so many words, but it is quite clear that the "bounce back" theory was never serious! So accordingly, why did he say it? My theory at the time was to get out of an interview..nothing has changed my mind on that. God, what a tool he is. :jerkit:

Stop it, of course we can, they are under contract. Modric wanted to leave last year, and he went no-where. Keogh would only be looking if the club hinted they would let him go. If the club came out and said "hes out captain, hes worth 3 million, he's going nowwhere" at least its a statement of intent.

Craine, ok, he's gone, but we dont need to be touting around our captain, he might just help us get back up !

It was an utter pile of donkey poo of an interview. I really do despair...why does he have to ruin the off-season by opening his gob? He sounds more like Cameron every day with his patronising spin.

I love the "we're all in it together" sentiments...yes, we really are pulling in the same direction, aren't we Timothy? I suppose the invasive body searches were a hug really, weren't they? Bless.

"Aim for the top 6" my arse.

So he reckons 65% FFP from Circa £ £5.5m budget, but wre'nt we told the advantage we were giving ourselves was doing the cutting a year early cos we can exploit 65% of last years £11m. budget. this year.
