We’ve been through all this already, and as forum moderator I’m surprised you want to stoke up an argument again. Aren’t you supposed to calm things down on here?

And as we’ve discussed, it is the club making every decision, however they are heavily dependent on advice to ensure matchday operations run smoothly.

So you aren't allowed to be corrected?

It clearly isn't the club making every decision, that's the issue.

Yes, it's on them for fucking up this corporate mixup etc. It isn't for not being able to open certain areas.

I’ve been in that lounge before and there was indeed a steward on the door. However he didn’t seem all that interested and was just letting everyone in. There wasn’t any checks

No. They are legally allowed to go against the advice of the SAG.
The clue is in the name, it’s advice. Advice can be taken or ignored.
What would happen if they didn’t take it would depend on what happened at the match.
If they ignored SAG advice, and there was a riot the club would be slaughtered. But that doesn’t change the fact that it’s still the clubs decision.

You're completely missing the fact it would be Frasers who get slaughtered/prosecuted for allowing it as they have the safety licenses.

Frasers could turn round and say "you can have 10 blocks open for this game" and there's probably nothing the club could do. The stands just wouldn't get physically opened up.

That’s complete speculation and would need to be tested in court. The club could equally turn around to Fraser’s and say “our licence agreement allows every block to be open”.

Matchday operations and spectator safety are the responsibility of the club, not Frasers. Them being landlord does not make them responsible for the actions of their tenants.
You’ll be saying next that Frasers would be prosecuted if the Casino serves alcohol to underage kids.

Got through to the Ticket Office and they confirmed that season tickets purchased through them get the points allocated fairly quickly but if purchased on-line via Ticketmaster that it takes quite a while longer. I stand corrected, but good to know why there is a discrepancy

So if it's nothing to do with Frasers then why do they employ a safety team who are involved in our matches? Why previously have Wasps / ACL employed the matchday safety people?

The casino serving alcohol is completely different, they are the ones licensed for serving beer. Frasers are safety licensed for the Arena.

That's not saying the club aren't liable for anything that happens on matchday, it's saying that if Frasers deem something a risk then they can make that decision and there's not much we can do. The club can't just stroll in and say "fuck what the SAG say, we are selling everywhere", it just wouldn't ever happen because it would need to go through Frasers first.

There's plenty to slate the club for. (The corporate fuck up is one example, the lack of guidance on how to actually buy tickets to make it user-friendly) but there needs to be balance.

Whilst it's an advisory group, I doubt anybody would be prepared to go against the advice of the SAG as if something went wrong, it would cause a total shitstorm and possibly invalidates insurance too?

Nothing at half time last week and certainly nothing at full time if you wanted to hang round the lounge and have a beer after etc.

Fraser's have no control over what goes on in the stadium bowl on a matchday.

Of course they do. An example from when it was Wasps.

Ultimate control of safety at the Ricoh Arena falls under Arena Coventry Limited (ACL) as holders of the safety certificate. Their designated Safety Officer Paul Cook runs the matchday from a safety point of view from the control room, working alongside the CCFC Safety Officer Nicki Pollard and her team of CCFC supervisors and stand managers, and stewards who are employed by CCFC.

It has always been like it, I can't see why it's that hard to understand. There was an issue years ago where fans kicked off about silly ticket checks that came from Paul Cook...ACL...Wasps....

They don't just hand over the keys and say crack on for today, lock up on your way out. Be good.

Hi Gents, i have a spare ticket for Sunday if there are any takers?

Wanted to ensure it went to an actual fan so just checking on here first as i know i struggled to get one like no doubt many others, not sure how many are still looking for one so if i am potentially bombarded it will go to whoever responds first, just want the £33 i paid for it back. They emailed me a printable ticket so should be straightforward.

In block 12.

Let me know, cheers.

From the club. Madness. Stop the migration of fans . People aren't that desperate to charge across their own fans.

'For this match, we have reduced the away allocation to only 2000 tickets in 7, 8 and 9 in line with EFL regulations for Play-offs, - this has meant we have been able to open blocks 11 and 12 for home supporters, and have as many Sky Blues fans as we are able to at the game.

The configuration of the concourse area in the South Stand is also not appropriate for any more supporters than we have currently in this area, due to the size of area once the shutters are down and also the kiosk/toilet facilities.

When discussing the then-potential fixture a number of weeks ago, agreement was made with the stadium safety team that we could only make this available, or let supporters know about this, once other areas were sold out.

We have been required by the stadium's safety team to keep the Jimmy Hill flag in Block 13, to stop migration by fans from the East Stand into the South Stand in the stadium bowl.

Segregation between home and away fans is maintained in Blocks 6 and 10, with this being significantly reduced compared to previous league matches this season.

In taking this approach, we have managed to achieve more tickets for sale in the home areas for Sky Blues, but reduce the overall capacity for this games as opposed to the recent home League fixture with Birmingham City.

We want to make clear that our aim as a Club is always to have as many Sky Blues fan in the Arena as possible supporting the team and we always strive to do this - however, we are required to do this by working with the stadium safety team and its safety officer, plus the Safety Advisory Group and in adherence to the safety certificate of the stadium.'

Exactly that.

SAG advice is like taking your car to a garage, where they tell you the brakes are about to go.
It’s your choice if you get the brakes fixed, but if you don’t and then crash you’ll then be in the poo.

I have literally quoted where it says the ultimate control.

So there will be SAG but then ACL / Frasers / Wasps whoever then have the ultimate control and say over it. The club can then try to negotiate to get them to change their view like they seem to have.
