Pete , can you ask if supporter behaviour over the last few seasons has contributed to the way the ground is not just policed but segregated on matchdays ..

Or can you ask the SAG to stop being silly and put a row of Britain's finest between us and away fans

In the thread on answers from the forums there is some explanation of the sag and what they do.
You’ve got people on here saying we don’t need a safeguarding lead at the game!!!
Colin the chair of the supporters forum is on sag I’ll ask him
The stadium support team is a new one on me

Just to play devils advocate, I presume you were at Boro on Monday, 2000ish of our fans sandwiched between home support in a big game yet no trouble between the fans and no pitch invasion.

Why the extra caution for the reverse fixture?

There are only the two examples of fans crossing the segregation though, one on a very highly charged night, the likes of which I hope we never see again. It was a bizarre occasion.

Other than that, once in 17 years, which would not have happened at all with better stewarding.

The point has been made before that the segregation doesn't help, the distance emboldens people and creates a no man's land that people can move into and wave their arms about without really having any intention of doing anything, a bit like the fence outside and the fence rattlers it encourages.

In any case, they're reducing the segregation on Sunday and absolutely nothing will happen, so a positive step.

The block 13 thing is a head scratcher which we'll not get an answer to.

But we have a recent record of pitch to invasions one from the block 14 area and another from the other end of the East Stand armed with two flare things, there have been others too, doesn’t do our record good and doesn’t do our reputation to the rule makers anygood.

I don’t think it’s unreasonable to both appreciate the work that Pete does, and at the same time think that our fanbase has grown to a point where it deserves/needs more dedicated and accountable fan representation. Lord knows if this is the way the club is going to be run going forward, it’s going to take more than we’ve currently got.

You are all missing the common denominator in all this. That is the club.

The fact we're still having discussions about segregations, fan behaviour and ticket sales just demonstrates to me how much of a state the club is still in.
Robins and the team have distracted us from the failings, as the playing side of the club is the main part that we all notice. But poor ownership/management manifests itself in all parts of the clubs operations.

Sisu didn't suddenly become good owners just because they appointed Robins.

Exactly, the incident against Sheffield United was the city fan went out to meet an away fan who was already in the "no mans land". A smaller gap and neither of them make a move.

There has also been a Leicester fan and a Bluenose getting the pitch to attack opposition players and they don't seem to have to close blocks upon blocks

What do pitch invasions have to do with the amount of segregation? If they were suggesting closing and netting off the first few rows then they would be more relevant.

I'm not sure what relevance that has to home/away segregation though. No amount of netting between supporters is going to stop people entering the field of play.

It's a problem, but almost a separate issue entirely. The people doing this are morons, but they don't have violent inclinations, they're just fuckwits.
