The problem other than minor UX complaints really is the segregation and I don’t understand why, 16 years after opening, we don’t have a clear answer of what we can do in a sell out situation.

Struggling to understand the meltdowns over tickets. If you have a season ticket you'll get one, if you don't then you run the risk of not getting one. That's ALWAYS been the case

I've got a ST and I cant log on to the etickets site - Won't acknowledge my supporter number or email details.
I've even tried re registering - Just wipes all details once I hit 'submit'.
On afternoon shift this week so that's me done for.
Not had a meltdown - I'm just not surprised and it reconfirms my long time hatred of most things 'techie'.

Would make sense. That way, if rival sets of fans come armed with oxy-acetylene cutters and get through the barriers, they will still have to contend with the 20 yards of dense barbed wire and tank traps in no man's land.

Perhaps we should look to Berlin for the answer?

If it doesn't then someone must have purchased your ticket on another account

Pretty sure the SAG can force it to be behind closed doors can't they?

The safety license would be with Frasers now wouldn't it?

How would that be enforced though? What would be the consequences of ignoring them?

The safety license will be with Frasers, but its for operations within the ground. The club have to abide by the terms of the license, which allows up to 32k football spectators

There are several courses of action open to the Council’s Enforcement Officers depending on the different circumstances that may be encountered or apply to the situation. The choices of enforcement action are:

  • Informal Warning.
  • Reduction in Capacity.
  • Prohibition Notice.
  • Simple Caution.
  • Prosecution.
Reducing the capacity of all, or part of, a sports ground is a formal action which would be appropriate in the following situations:

  • if an incident suggests that the management of a sports ground is performing poorly or
  • if the Council’s inspecting personnel identify any deficiencies in the fabric, equipment, records or management systems, which the authority has not already taken into account when accepting or calculating the permitted capacity.
Any new capacity should be properly calculated having regard to the change in circumstances and the procedures to be followed will be the same as during the routine annual review of the Safety Certificate. Ground management should be invited to submit its proposed revised (P) or (S) factor, but the Council reserve the right to overrule this if appropriate.

When reducing a capacity, it is important that:

  • Officers act reasonably and in accordance with due process, not least because the certificate holder has a right of appeal against any reduction in capacity; and
  • a formal amendment to the Safety Certificate is issued.
Once the remedial measures or improvements have been implemented consideration should be given to restoring the original capacity.

Please forgive me for being so obtuse but selling ST holders 2 tickets is going to be handing over a lot of tickets to normally disinterested partners/ family/ friends etc I suspect and potentially cutting out fans who can’t justify a ST but perhaps go 10 home games a season

That reads as though its only a consequence of something happening. Such as having no segregation and their being a huge punch up. I think we all agree there needs to be safety measures in place, just not the over the top stuff we have now.

From that it seems if we opened up every block, have a small but solid level of segregation, and the game went peacefully, then the SAG would be powerless to punish the club.

Guess they would punish the person from Frasers (if the license is in their name?)

It's not just affordability it's also opportunity. I tend to go when my son is home from uni as not that much fun going on your own. Covering weekends and evenings at work also comes into it.

Its all fine but I honestly believe that Season Ticket holders are and should be treated as the top of the pile and with that has to come benefits. Its a benefit of the commitment that they have put into the club.

I agree that they themselves should indeed be treated with preference but not in that fashion…..it opens up to selling precious tickets to bandwagon Charlie’s who never normally go or might not even support the club.

Don't disagree with you, it's the degree of the benefit and priority received given that there a baked in cost reduction from making that commitment.

Yeah of course season ticket holders deserve to be rewarded and that reward should be priority sale period.

Giving them an extra ticket means it's more beneficial to know a season ticket holder than to attend 10 games a season.

No its a reward for loyalty to the Season Ticket holder who has invested in the club

We will I am sure get at least two tickets per holder for Wembley - sends a message - if you want to be on the journey get a season ticket

To be honest I can't remember using it previously.
For the handful of away games I've attended this season, a mate has sorted tickets for the group.
I was going to use my 2 tkt allocation for my brother and his grandson and then I was prepared to take a chance and profit from somebody hopefully offloading a spare.
I'm more disappointed for them than me.

I would like to see some acknowledgment that this game is lower risk that the Brum game.
Then their pea-like brains might move to ‘oh so we don’t need as much segregation’.

How the hell is it rewarding the season ticket holder? It should have been one ticket for each season ticket holder, not you can buy an extra ticket for your mate who only wants to go because it’s a big game not to be seen again till the next big game. The reward for the season ticket holder is getting their own seat.

There's also two clear sets of entrances outside the ground should they need them. Where the Blue offices start is the away entrances for followings below 3000. They only open the ones to the right when there's a big away turnout.

The issue is the beloved fence. Maybe just do what other clubs do and have police officers mingling around.

We walked out Monday straight into the Boro fans and no problem. Same at Sheffield United, Reading, Watford, Sunderland, Norwich etc.

Even at Burnley where they were baying for our blood, the police separated fans using a mixture of coaches and police officers. It's doable.

To be fair, my extra one is for somebody getting a season ticket after paying on the day for about 10 games this season.

It's not always for people who never turn up.

GUIDE: How to use online ticketing

We understand that purchasing tickets online, or assigning them to other fans, is more difficult for some supporters than others.

That’s fair enough however the majority will be for what I mentioned or their wives who spend all season moaning that their husbands spend Saturdays watching 22 grown men kicking a football.
