when have i ever said sixfielders agreed with move??????? i said they didnt fight it. i see bringing club home as something to fight againt. ticket prices is just something we can ask for but doesnt need to stop us going as much as we can.

I know , look at bradord used to average 6-10 k over the majority of the last 20 years , very cheap season tickets were introduced now they average 13-14000 , weird that

i am calm. this was a discussion about ticket prices and possibly lowering them but wums have come on hijacked thread with an agenda of poor fans not going games etc that has caused the arguments.

You won't because it goes against what you are trying to say. Even the FL say that they are the cheapest club to watch.

They do thousands more £18 tickets than we do. And ours are only in the family stand. You say that £4 per ticket makes hardly any difference. But if they charged £22 and £24 for the majority of their tickets......only £4 more.......they would make nearly 100k a game more on attendances of nearly 20k.

So why don't they put their prices up by £4 a ticket if it would hardly make any difference to attendances?

Lets just say for arguments sake that coventry have the same average as before at 10900 , thats 239000 based off 22pound tickets , i know that its not the case as we need to average kids concessions etc ,
but just 14000 at 18 pound is 252000 and at 17pouns a ticket it then only goes lower at 238000 , im sure we would have got over 14000 against yeovil if tickets were 17 pound , im sure we could get 3000 more a week through the door on a 5pound difference, whilst in the proccess not really being financially worse off

Their season ticket prices are higher and they have 12,500.

You actually haven't a clue that they sell that many at all. If they do sell them how many are walk ups and pay £2 more. How many book on line and pay an admin fee and how many pay £1 on line booking fee?

What's the 20,000?

This is all incredbly dull. It doesn't take a genius to work out that if tickets were cheaper, then more would go. If there was (and hopefully will be) some success on the pitch, then more will go, and even more if the prices remain competitive. Many fans, including me (if I am still classed as a fan in the eyes of some), will pick and choose games due to other commitments and finances. If ticket prices remain as they are, then this will be maybe 8 games at home this season, if they are lowered to say £15 and £5 for kids, then that figure would rise to 10-11 games for the remainder of the season - and some other family members would come to th odd game I am sure.

The £2 surcharge on match day serves no positvie purpose and sends out the wrong message to fans. This season should be all about building bridges with the support (local and otherwise), not on returning to "business as usual" as before the move to Sixfields. I don't work in marketing, but as I said, it doesn't take a genius to work out what needs to be done. 12k on Saturday would be viewed as disappointing, but you only have to look at the low number of signatures on the petition (some free market research there for the club) to see that some intense short term marketing with a local focus needs to happen, and this should include well publicised lowerinrg of prices to offer an immediate incentive.


I know a Bradford fan, and he said the logic behind low season ticket prices was to ensure that the new stands were as full as possible, otherwise there was no point in building them. High number of season ticket holders would more or less guarentee consistently higher attendances - and it has worked to a large degree.

This is not a winge by the way - just my version of common sense, simple economics, and where I am with personal finances and job security.

End of the day , the club have to look at and try to address why there is 15-20,000 empty seats in the stadium , when all is said and done , they need to come up with a sustainable solution , one thats benefitting themselves and the supporters , as the club and the fans , want the ricoh fuller on matchdays than it has been in recent years
