If the question is how do we get more people in, then reducing the price will be the answer. If the question is how does the club maximise its income, the answer is not to reduce the price.

It is if it brings in a lot more paying customers. And if bringing in more brings the stadium to life it would help our players. And they say that a promotion would be worth about 5m a year. That is serious money to our club ATM.

I can't remember a game where discounted prices led to a large increase in the crowd compared to those who would go to the same game at the higher price.

Correct. The only one was Colchester about 2 or 3 seasons after we moved.

You are not telling me if Crewe in the JPT had been £22-24 it would of sold out? Come on

What grinds me - SISU/CCFC could charge only £14 at sixfields and only attracted 1,500 (average fans) this lasted the whole season and SISU claimed it was cost-effective. So why now is it not cost effective now having the same prices for 15,000 customers?

No I'm not telling you that, I'm saying that the difference in the Crewe attendance could not be described as a large increase compared to the number that would have gone.

And from a financial point of view, which is the main point of the argument, 25,000 people at £24 (with a promise of a cup final ticket), is hugely more beneficial than 30,000 at £5.

So why didn't the club this then? Why did they reduce it £5?

I disagree majorly I think if tickets were £22-24 normal price instead of £5 it was the attendance would of been hugely affected. Was it 32k sell out I would say more 15-20k. I would say that's a big difference.

Hmm quick calculation 32,000 x £5 = £160,000 £15,000 x £20 = £300,000......so King of Kings going with your worst case scenario
you are agreeing with Rusty Trombones revenue argument or do you not see that???!!!

They kept the price at £5 because they don't know what they are doing. The same as they thought as Gillingham was on Sky no one would come, and needlessly reduced the price.

ok, we disagree with the attendance figures, but if I accept yours, 32,000 at £5 = £160k, 15,000 at £22 = £330k. The price should have been higher.

Course I do. Yet another poster who can't answer the question. I agree with the figures 100%. I shall ask again.

Why did the club reduce it to £5 a ticket then?

And also RT said it wouldn't affect attendance now this can't be proved or disproved I guess but i think it would of not been a sell out had it been £22-24 that's just my opinion though. I accept that.

Thanks or answering my question with a frank " they don't know what they are doing" I agree btw. I agree with the figures as they are plain to see. The sell out bit at £5 or not we will just disagree on as it's opinion.

In neither example I don't know anybody who used price as the justification for going.

Guess we will never know but 32k down to 18k say IMO. I would call that a large affect. This is where we disagree you probably think it would of been more 25k fans. Either way tickets shouldn't have been £5 if posters on here tell me it's about making lots of revenue from ticket streams.

Let me get this right because I am intrigued.

Those people that have spent over a year telling us that we only filled the Ricoh because of ticket prices are now saying that the ticket prices made no difference? :thinking about:

So, you're astutely off the mark.

And a sniff of Wembley? If it was purely cost then burton would have been a bit more busy.

Regardless of other teams prices, £24 for me just isn't happening. It's too much for 90 minutes of football regardless of who it is. I can easily afford it, but I wouldn't pay it.
The season ticket prices are spot on though.

sure that was a big deal too, but the casuals would have allowed wembley if it meant 15 quid more for an area final match.

hill is right, its too much. ST work out fine but i cant make every saturday.

hopeefully ccfc will release match package soon

I think this thread has been slightly taken off track in that people are particularly talking about single person/ticket prices. My angle is from that of a family and again I repeat if like us who don't live in Cov decide on the spur of the moment to go to the match we would be asked to pay 2 x adults, 1 x 16-21 and 2 x 15 year olds= Total £ 88.00, that's before travel and anything else. This is for a League 1 football match for 90 mins, that could feasibly be terrible. At that risk, folk will think twice !

So you would charge £10 for fa cup v Arseley 1st round and then keep it £10 for Arsenal Quarter final to "stick it all the way through"?

So that isn't what they did? It wasn't a fiver for every jpt home game? People bang on about it being too expensive but find another reason when its a fiver!

it was what they did yes. You are right. We all know that. Im questioning the logic as would you charge £10 reduced tickets for arseley fa cup first round and keep the same ticket price for arsenal at home quarter final of the fa cup?

You stating they kept it £5 all the way through well why? They have got a better product to sell an area final so made no sense to keep it at £5. so why do it? (Remember ticket sales was a big income stream for us)

Bit harsh don't believe he was a ST holder so will not reap those rewards.

Just another way of Sisu keeping the fans divided until their next scheme.....

We were told by Fisher that he expected us to keep the piece with the Sixfielders or he would ban us for life.

We made it clear that we had never abused anyone who had ever gone in.
But on the same note they abuse us it is OK... Double Standards yet again
