It doesn't seem right that those of us who have purchased tickets already are having to pay £2.40 delivery costs for each ticket, when those who buy tickets after the post deadline, will be able to use Ticketfast free of charge!
I have written to the club and lodged a complaint!

It's £2.40 per order. If you're getting 6 then 40 p a ticket. Not exactly extortionate. You can just wait for the print off time and buy then if you want. Moaning for moaning sake

That's the booking fee. The people printing at home will still have to pay that.

It's always been this way really. Long before ticketmaster I was charged postage fees for away tickets per ticket and all arrived in one envelope. Made me feel like being petty and placing multiple orders but life's too short. Just accept it and be happy

Yeah I've paid, £2.40 post and £4.80 fees for 2 tickets. It's bullshit really but will be long forgotten if we have a good day out !

There should be something done about booking fees. Its an absolute joke, going to a gig can cost you £50 extra.

No, it's £2.40 ticket master fee per ticket THEN £2.40 postage on each order. As I ordered 12 tickets (and was told it was 10 tickets max per order), I had to make 2 orders and pay postage twice AND £2.40 admin per ticket

Paid over 30 pound on top o my tickets in fees , does seem excessive but it’s not a regular thing so I’m not all that fussed

However you look at it, those who book early don't get the Ticketfast option and have to pay postage. So all I'm saying is the Ticketfast option should be there from the start as it is throughout the season....

You are right this whole booking fee crap is a legal scam, they know it’s a captive audience whether it’s football or a concert. Blatant profiteering.

I’d have paid a £240 booking fee if someone would have said we would get to the play off final.

Get it paid and look fwd to the day !

Something does need to be done but this is actually quite cheap in comparison to the Big Weekend tickets.

They were £18 per ticket with a charge of £4.50 per ticket. Don’t get me wrong still ridiculous cheap for what you are getting but still just grates that you have to pay 25% extra per ticket for essentially nothing.

Think yourself lucky you are not going to the Champions League final in Ukraine.
The people who want to go there are really being dragged over hot coals.

I wanted 11 tickets maximum per booking was 10 so had to pay two delivery charges even though I had 18 available it’s just robbery, I think it’s with ticket master if you look at what the booking fee is for it says admin and delivery and then they charge separately for delivery. Also £2.40 for delivery and then they use Royal Mail and costs them about 90p

I thought at the time that paying 2 lots of £2.40 was rediculous because of the 10 per transaction rule but when you work it out, its like 25p per ticket, so I didnt moan

Before they jumped into bed with Ticketmaster I could see the the possibility of the club making a good profit from selling their own tickets , plenty of students in the city who they could have employed to set it up, I know cost would have been a big factor but once its there just needs a little tweaking here and there. Like everything else hive it off and them say poor us we have only got match day revenues to keep us going. No thought for potential earnings.

So a few students could have set up CCFC's ticketing operation? Wonder how that would work with games like this?

Nick I'm a luddite when it comes to things like this after all wont see 70 again but you know more about things like this but the amount of money made surely would out way the cost pretty soon after .setup ie 2 or 3 years £2-50 x 30 000 is a lot of bread to have good share in.

That's only if we get to Wembley though isn't it?

It would cost a fair bit to implement an inhouse ticket system, the servers to power it, the developers to maintain it and the staff to run it.

It's all well and good for times like Monday when we need to sell 30K but how would we have the servers to power it, the interactive seating map of Wembley etc?

I know I'm picking a peak time but what would the cost be per year bearing in mind every time a ticket is purchased more money goes into the club would it be viable over time would it. not only be used for tickets , could car parking be linked to it , possibly travel , so people could buy the whole package in 1 go I do think the potential for making money for the club is going elsewhere.

I had to pay a 2.40 postage fee even though they don't post to a foreign address and defaults to a Wembley collection after the postage deadline expires!

The benefit of using Ticketmaster is that we get to use their infrastructure, specialists etc but the negative is that there is things like booking fees to pay them. We saw before what it was like when we had that dodgy ticket system that crashed every time more than 10 people used it and took about an hour to buy a season ticket.

I just think Ticketmaster will become the "Sky" of the ticketing world if there not already and we will all grow to regret it. Could the E L F set a system up and tailor it to work for each club? I just wish that the money that's going to Ticketmaster would be best served staying in the game and us in particular.

It's going to them for us to use their infrastructure, staff, expertise etc so it's a case of weighing up the pros and cons of it compared to running our own system and then having to pay for the upkeep. If it wasn't going to Ticketmaster it would be going on development, infrastructure, staff etc.

IIRC we looked at this a while ago and it’s certainly not something a couple of students could set up. There’s an open source ticketing platform as a start but it’d be a big old job to customise and even more so to maintain.

I swear people think software is like graphic design or something and any old fucker can do it with five minutes practice.

The old bespoke vs off the shelf argument.

There’s no solid right answer. Frankly having seen the wages the club pay I wouldn’t have faith in them attracting decent development talent.

Yeah its not something that can be knocked up. Then once made it needs maintaining.

Even just putting Wembley in for choosing seats would be an epic task.
