We belong here by merit. When you look at our strike force yesterday afternoon in 2nd half of Biamou and JCH, that could easily be a non league pairing

We are a huge club in this league in fact I’d say we are probably one of the biggest clubs this league has had.

It’s a disgrace us being here.

No, Pompey were a huge club, our support is (at home) is no better than any other L2 club. To call ourselves too big for this league is the exact reason I think were not.
Snobbery! Fans that think they're too good to watch L2 football = low crowds = shit budget = poor quality players = WE ARE WHERE WE BELONG!
If we were averaging 12-13k fans EVERY week I'd completely agree with you that were too big to be in L2. Unfortunately we don't and subsequently were not.

One of the things I dislike about forums is that you can get drawn into issues which have no relevance to the topic: such as this one..,,
I hope that BDRM doesn't believe in karma and I delighted that he has to the capacity inside his head to process his thoughts concisely if not humanely. Others are not so fortunate and you would have thought that as a society there was sufficient knowledge around that meant that the use of words such as Mong was consigned to a less enlightened era. Disappointing fella!
On to the topic I always find the knee jerk reaction after a victory or defeat really draining. We are not great for winning or shit for losing.
Does the OP believe that Robins tells his players to perform badly? Do you not think on the other side of the Willis played shit coin might be full credit to him for playing whilst ill?
I have never seen a manager send a team out to play badly or a player to miss an open goal or held him responsible for the keepers errors.
I can see that Robins will come under increased scrutiny but is it justified over the course of the season? I can imagine the scenario when he took over, it was rotten to the core, its foundations built on shit, runny shit at that and Robins has done a good job to date, trying to create a winning mentality amongst the ruins of a club.
Don't be fooled by the bling of the Ricoh or the history of our club, scratch the surface, take off the make up, we are broken and it will take more than changing managers repeatedly to fix that.
Whatever his failings he is better than the alternative.

Hmm but given that your judgement and opinion are flawed , based on you were a mug that actually believed Dale Evans was for real and let me check ...

Yes you actually argued his case , so in view of this I can only assume your jumping in to a debate I’ll informed and wrong.

Another over reaction

All is not lost, but things need to change very quickly.

The FA Cup run has been brilliant, but the league is our bread and butter, we need to start winning games.

Our next five league games are;

Colchester
Mansfield
Wycombe
Lincoln
Barnet

We need to win at least four if not five of these games, it’s a big ask, but would put us back in with a shout.

Anything less is going to be very testing.

This sort of post comes out after most defeats
I know we need to win at least 4 of these games but going by form,it ain’t gonna happen

The title of this thread is throwing the season away. Or should it be Stuttering Progress?

We certainly have obvious weaknesses, we were after all truly relegated. Yet people seem quick to judge the January signings who hopefully might kick us on?

This season hasn't been a disaster; but it is doing well under circumstances v should be doing better.

The new signings might well fail, but it is too soon to judge them.. The forum was full of praise for the January signings and people were optimistic. Now it is easy for people to chant rubbish.

Someone was critical of first time fans not knowing the City chants. Well here they are kids: it should be 4-4-2, you don't know what you are doing and Sack the Manger, Sack the Manager....

Don't think it's as simple as you're making out. Portsmouth fans rallied around their club when they reached this league, but that was helped by losing the owners who had mismanaged them into League 2, and they had becoming fan owned. I'm not sure their support would have stuck with them in such numbers if they had retained their previous owners. We haven't been afforded that luxury, but if we had & there was a turn around in optimism & fans belief that owners truly wanted the club to progress I think it would be reasonable to assume we could average 12-13k in this league. The 2 clubs with bigger home crowds than us (until yesterday anyway) are Luton & Lincoln I believe. Both are on an upward curve with their fans full of hope & optimism. I see, Lincoln have got to the Checktrade final so let's see how many tickets they sell for that, while with regard to Luton, if we had the season they are having, where they are not only top & winning games, but they are also scoring for fun I reckon our crowds would now be above that 12-13k figure you quote, regardless of our ongoing ownership issues.

This should be us and like wise if Luton were not in the commanding position they are in would they have changed things around ?

Deliberately refrained from commenting on anything yesterday and today , wanted to give myself 24 hours before I contemplate commenting on the various threads bordering on ridiculous.

Let me firstly say it was indeed a very very bad performance I’d say easily defensively and offensively the worst of season, I was there at Morecambe and Accrington.

This result was coming, we possibly rode our luck at home vs Cambridge and Swindon. But the difference was we had a cutting edge in defence and in attack.

Was there an excuse for this display? Don’t buy the injuries, but I must say Bayliss and McNulty ( I’ve watched every minute of Bayliss live) and It was clear he wasn’t himself yesterday.

We did come up against a well drilled side(far from special).

Can we salvage the season...of course we can. The difference was previous defeats vs Exeter/PortVale/Cambridge/FGR/ Accrington away, was that at least we played half decent, we looked at a team and I maintain we were not the worse team. But yesterday truly dreadful. Man for man.

The season is definitely salvageable. We haven’t become a bad side in the space of 1/2 weeks.

Given that you state that you have researched past posts about gentlemen from me please post one where I supported Dale Evans.
I reiterate that every person should be listened to and given a forum, a person is innocent until proven guilty in my world and I leave jumping to conclusions to others, even if they turn out to the right it doesn't mean I am wrong. Letting events take their natural course usually flushes out the genius, the fool, the good guy, the bigot.
Now back to you, I leave it to others to judge where you sit on that list.

I mean, I used to embarrass myself on here frequently, till I actually got over myself and stopped being a mouthy drama queen.

3 Successive defeats now. Who would give Colchester any hope of the play offs ? Not me so logically I can't give us much hope now.

Much more like we're used to.

Robins bottled it, simple as that. We got back into it through luck, he chose not to throw pace on until we went 2-1 down, not when the game was wide open.

Hands on hearts now, did any of us think that with 14 games still left we would be saying the chance of automatic promotion has gone?

I am stunned that we are now 9 points adrift and I do think that, that is it for us and it is chances blown.

Very saddening.

That was me on Saturday. Now I'm worried about playoffs as its going to need some changes which he hasn't been willing to do.

I didn’t think we would get automatic and the chickens are now coming home to roost. I was hoping that we might limp over the playoff line-I’m off now to go and look for a wheelchair.
