Why are we as a team so crap. Every time we had a trow in yesterday on our left with Bidwell there was no movement from us to try and make space to receive the ball.
on two occasions I watched EMC walk backwards away from Bidwell and clearly didnt want the ball thrown to him.
Only Sheaf made the effort to receive the ball other players like Wright, Eccles, Rudi all just stand there with a look on their face of please dont throw it to me. Bidwell literally stands there waiting for someone to throw it to whilst the other team just mark all our players who stand still.

I was getting annoyed about this yesterday. We only have two players who take throw ins so surely we can work hard with them on what to do in different situations.

MvE should be launching it down the line if we’ve got nothing better to do.

It's been a bugbear of mine for years now and has got worse. It's the short one to a player marked straight back to the throw in taker who's closed down and we lose possession. Criminal behaviour then I see other teams making it a positive play!

Dunno why the "long throw" has to take a player out of position to the other side of the field to take if the ball is wet or slippery and it doesn't really go far.

Yesterday we had one by the dugouts.

Robins actually told Eccles not to show for it.

This predates the Robins era. Its something we've always been bad at

It bugs the shit out of me that a simple training setup on throw ins is not being concentrated on. Look at Arsenal! They never lose possession from their throw ins.
And as for not leaving your smallest player on the half way line when we defend corners is so bloody annoying. Also at the same time leave the next ineffectual player or your quicket player just on the D that simple setup occupies 4 of the opposition players and plus we have a player ready and able to break away. We don't do the easy stuff to gain advantages!

We’ve been shit at throw ins for at least the last ten years in fact I can’t remember the last time we were any good at them. Corners have generally been the same other than when Hamer took them and Tbf to Rudoni he’s been quite good.

Throw ins are massively overvalued by fans. Aim should pretty much exclusively be ball retention. If you have to throw it backwards 20-30 yards then so be it.

Also dislike having designated throw in takers. Just do whoever is closest and get the ball back in play as quickly as possible.

Surely one of the 55 coaches behind Robins is a throw in coach

I know I've said this before but we seem to be the only team for which a throw in is not an advantage

I actually saw their bench celebrate when we got a throw in on Saturday. Embarrassing. Surely this is something Dr Roberts should be sorting.

We where taught about movement at throw ins during the 1st year at senior school for our school side. Drawing a defender towards the thrower then spinning back or just making space behind you by drawing markers in. It is literally school boy stuff, and if professional footballers at any level haven't grasped this then something is seriously wrong with the standard of coaching in this country.

Mate we can’t even coach players to take a throw in properly any more, asking for movement is definitely a step too far!!
