Was there a valid reason for the closure of this thread or are the mods just being Judge, Jury and executioner yet again?

Yes, because it went totally off topic?

What do you mean by yet again?

Just to make sure it's gone completely off thread, wasn't the men's final a classic, and well done Lewis Hamilton

Nick, some of the mods (no names) think they have a God given right to close threads just because it suits them. I've seen a number of thread closures in the past (for no valid reason). I don't see that "going off topic" is a valid reason either unless it involves strong, abusive language, discrimination or personmal attacks. I often go "off-topic" to lighten the mood. Am I in the wrong? Can we have some sort of clarification on this?

What has abuse towards women got to do with our signings now? What has the krays got to do with it?

Nobody closes threads because it suits them.

I closed that one as it was pathetic, now you have your answer this will.be closed.

The mods do have the right to close threads.

Any issues, welcome to pm.

Whoops! Gone off topic there! Apparently, I have to be more careful due to the fact that I might upset some mods with an injection of humour now and again. Apologies to all who think I should be hung, drawn and quartered! I'd hate to see this thread closed on my behalf.

No Nick. I have nothing to get over. The forum is like being in a pub with a group of mates. One starts a conversation but you can bet your bottom dollar it will end up about something entirely different after a while. That's what "having a conversation" is all about.

Go to the pub with your mates then?

Nothing like trying to stir up trouble is there?

Having conversations is all well and good, most of that thread wasnt.

I closed it as it had got silly, if you had nothing to get over you wouldn't be whinging and making new threads and hijacking others.

Or because they want to talk about football and not child sex gangs????
As I said, if you have an issue you are welcome to pm me to discuss it, but what have rape, abuse, child sex and all of the other crap got to do with somebody injecting humour?

That was ONE post. As I pointed out, it has happened before on perfectly valid threads. Why do I have to pm you? I think the issue of closed threads should be something members should be able to respond to openly.

So get me the links then?

You can pm me to discuss your issues because you are blatently just whinging to try and stir up trouble.

If people have issues I'm happy to reply, but not when they are just bitching for the sake of it.

Pretty sure you can see that random jokey posts are fine to lighten up threads, read through that thread and it's clear why it was getting silly.
