World cup not toilet, but yeah what we thinking about the games up till the world cup, I think most the games we have are winnable, maybe QPR and Blackburn might be tough think we’ll lose them. But I’ve done a little prediction week by week and this was my table going into the World Cup :

For any of those also interested in having a crack :

The only trouble with predictions are that they're just guesses
Anyone at any given time can beat anyone in this madness of a league

Good luck doing this but its pretty pointless really. Week by week the Championship is the hardest league to predict results, and doing so over a longer period even more so.

Just a bit of fun really, see who’s clearly too optimistic and who’s too pessimistic.

Great position in the table……as long as it’s not achieved alongside average crowds of 4568 at Burton fucking Albion

If we can play our games, then we really want to be sitting around midtable going into the WC.

Unfortunately, off field matters may take centre stage like they did at the start of the season, so really hard to call

Always wanted a go at this

Taking in home advantage, and a draw, 40 points or fewer in proximity.

Today's predictions;

Bristol City vs Swansea City - Away win. !!
WBA vs Sheffield United - Away win !!
Burnley vs Reading - Home win !!
Cardiff City vs Rotherham - Draw !?
Coventry City vs Blackpool - Home win !!
Huddersfield Town vs Milwall - Away win !!
Hull City vs Blackburn Rovers - Away win !!
Luton Town vs Sunderland - Home win !!
Norwich City vs Stoke City - Home win !!
PNE vs Middlesbrough - Home win !!
Wigan vs Watford - Draw ?!

The Birmingham result. Excellent result for Birmingham.

Birmingham (1462)+80=1542 vs QPR (1630)

Nowhere near it.

Don't bet your house. Maybe Birmingham were pulling a higher number that night, or alternatively, maybe QPR wasn't. Maybe a mixture of the two.

What is it 5 games? 3 wins 1 draw 1 loss and I'll be very happy going into the break. That should see us top half and close to playoffs

A win here should see City around mid-table when everything is levelled out. Currently, just over halfway from mid-table to a relegation scrap. Teams are still bouncing all over the place, but it will gradually settle down over the next ten games or so.

I think 7th is highly optimistic. I'd be happy with 12th to be honest.

Are you happy with 5 correct? I reckon that would be par for the course for most people most weeks, which is why it is a pretty pointless exercise all in all.

Well, doesn’t look like we’re going to be winning 5 in a row on our charge to 7th in time for the World Cup.

Today's game was winnable but we lost
Against Stoke away wasn't winnable but we won

That's why I don't bet

Anyone still think 7th is ludicrous?

Maybe not ludicrous, but mathematically impossible now!

11th at best now I reckon. Should we and Preston win. Think B’ham will win on Friday, maybe Rotherham could win at Luton and send us 10th. Again, if we can beat QPR.

Championship is as mental as L1 and L2, so

the table above assumed our games in hand were caught up
6 points from 3 games at home v qpr / wba/ huddersfield would put us bank on with the target

But the OP was made at the end of October when there was no way the games would’ve been played, so it’s completely pointless.

The sweet spot is usually after a certain number of games, when the rating deviation is around 50.

A percentile graph in 10% would be excellent, counting the favoured%wins against the unfavoured%wins for the season. My betting is that there's a decent pattern there!

That was weird reading that.

I wrote exactly the same thing then decided not to post it. Thought I must have accidentally pressed the 'post' button.
