Andy Thorn Speaking to the CT about out of form Striker Freddy Eastwood

Speaking to the CT Thorn said:

"I don’t think we have seen anything near what Freddy Eastwood can do.

"It’s a big year for Fred coming up. "He’s got a year left on his contract and we had a good chat this week because we see it in training and we know what he has got in there. It is just a case of getting it out of him.

“He’s looked me in the eyes and he wants to do well. "But it is down to the individual and how far they want to go.

"I want to be successful, the coaching staff want to be successful and we want to come back next season with the players wanting that as well. "But at the end of the day the proof will be in the pudding.”

I don't doubt he has got it, he just needs to show it and have a good run in the team.

Eastwood should be moved on but the way AT is talking about him clearly exposes teh position to me that King is off, he has no budget for an adequete replacement and knows that he needs to big up FE who is a confidence player and needs to feel loved since we are stuck with him.

Think Rob has it right, I see no good reason to keep Eastwood....... but King is probably off so he will have to cover that. Doubt we can sell him or move him on because while in contract he can always say no..... who else would pay the same wages given his performance record over the last 4 years!

btw in last year of his contract ......... wonder if he will play well this year and what his motivation might be !

I feel sorry for Eastwood whenever he starts hitting form
He has been put back on the bench again then when they play him again he can't find form

He's got all the potential of a really good footballer but he's just lazy. Hope AT can get the best out of him b/c it looks like he will be our other striker next season.

I thought he was superb before he got injured this season, he didn't get a look in after that. If he's all we've got it is a worry tho. Can't see him producing for 40 odd games but he is more realistic to the type of player we can attract and afford.

Im a big fan of Eastwood he just needs to have a good pre season lose some of that excess weight and stay injury free and the goals will soon return he has the potential to become our 20 goal a season player but has only shown glimpses of it during his time with us...

Hopefully he doesn't come good then leave for free as he's only got a year left...

I would rather he comes good for a season, leaves for free and helps us out than he play rubbish all season. Cost us money we could do without spending and leave

We have to get this lump of shit of the wage bill at some point. He must be on what 7-8K a week?

The sooner he goes the better. imp:

I remember when he came to us and all the Wolves fans on 606 were saying "good riddance"! They knew what he was like! As far as I'm concerned, he can go!

Thought he was on 1k a week. That's what he declared in court the other year.
Really wished fred would have delivered the goods but after 3 years i'm not sure it's gonna happen
