The fact that SISU said we messed up by letting players go and not sufficiently replacing them

It is starting to seem that some would not be too disressed if liquidation happenes as AT would be out of a job and SISU would be gone.

The fact that any experts discussing the matter on television or radio have never said Coventry need to sack Andy Thorn and instead have blamed the owners or the financial light of the club

You could say that about any of the last 10 managers. And the poll was about who was to blame but who is anti or pro thorn.

The guy is lovely. But we need a experienced manager. To shake rattle and roll the crap out of squad and bring on men to replace the boys.

You could not say that about the last 10 managers. They all had more money to bring in players, bigger squads, bigger budgets, and more experienced players. I don't like to say this, but that is a fact.

This is getting quite boring really. The fans love him and mostly think he is the best thing that has happened to us since the previous relegation. Sisu will fight to keep hold of him against the suitors from elsewhere.

I m determined to enjoy next year. Until Sisu go its not serious is it really? Just a bit of a laugh. Nobody really is serious about getting them out so just crack on and check out some old school footy grounds

This is has got be to be a wind up!

What suitors?!
The best thing which has happened since the previous relegation?! The best what exactly?!

Do you honestly believe Thorn is the best manager since relegation?? No wonder we are in serious trouble.

What is your point here? When were there anti Boothroyd, Dowie, Coleman, McAllister or even Peter Reid chants at the ground. Adams had one for one minute against Barnsley. There has rarely been a supporter uprising against any manager until Strachan's Championship year.

Pointless. What ex managers are ever criticised by former players? Can't remember one. Can recall Marcus Hall saying Thorn wasn't the man for the job. Thought he played a game or two once. Couple of old players from the 60's have also criticised the playing style away from home.

My point is people are suggesting that the majority want Thorn to go. When that is the case you hear chants and see it on the news and hear it on the radio. Look at Villa with Mcleish. We got relegated and were hardly out of the bottom three this season. Yet I have never heard a Thorn out chant. Please dont tell me that, that does not tell you anything

p.s

Peter Reid must hate the sight of Leeds United. Having endured a miserable eight months in charge there during 2003, the Elland Road club yesterday turned the pressure on in him once again, in his role as manager of Coventry.
A sizeable minority of the home fans chanted "Reid out" during the second half

But I dont think there was a majority demanding Mcallister Dowie or Coleman to be out
so there would not be chants

But when you get a majority wanting a manager gone you get chants tot that effect

You have never heard of a player who leaves a club criticising the manager from the previous club if he was doing a bad job?

Reid never was going to be popular as he replaced a popular manager. That said the anti-Reid chants were fairly modest. McLeish is a poor example. Villa fans wanted him sacked before a ball was kicked. Adams was not popular by the end of his tenure but again little reaction. Only one was Strachan and then only at the very end. We failed to beat a 9 man Forest and then lost to Grimsby. That was because expectancy levels were much, much higher as they will be next season. The heat in the kitchen will truly be much higher next season.

Don't you mean"who didn't leave since AT took over at the end of last season. We lost players up to Jan when Juke went. Selective memory again?

So basically Coleman had no chants as Mcallister was not sacked.

Adams, Strach and Reid had "out" chants. I think it is pretty common if the majority of fans want a manager gone

Reid spent money and was shite. So we would have wanted him out if we were doing any good as we liked our previous manager?

Loads of players have left nobody has come out and said Coventry are in trouble because AT is tactically nieve.

It happens all the time when players leave clubs if they dont rate what the manager was doing they are hardly discreet

What money out of interest did Reid spend. I am no defender of his but without looking I would say he had very little money to invest in players. Stern John came in I think from money raised through the sale of Davenport but did he actually spend any money?

John was signed for 250k. We got £1.1m up front for Davenport and all the rest were frees and loans.

It's all a bit academic anyway. I'm clearly wrong about him so really it's a bit unfair to treat such a budding talent poorly by tying him to such an unambitious club. I would be surprised if West Brom don't come looking for him - I mean they could be 10 points better off - they could be in the Europa League next season. If not at the very least a Championship Club must see his talents and swoop for him? How can we hold him back?

Yes duff. Players coming in on a free on big wages are free......Can you tell me why AT couldn't sign players on a free because as you say they cost nothing.......

I want to see what happens if Thorn is given backing, gets a very competent league one squad and then, as i suspect, fails to get us in the top 6. What then all you blinkered Thorn lovers? Will you still back him to the hilt and demand he stays through blind loyalty? He con's far outweigh his pro's and he is the worst manager we have had for half a century and yet the 'majority' of our fans seem to think he is bulletproof. I await the hypocrisy to kick in around christmas time.

Maybe comeback and gloat if/when it's actually happened, as opposed to in your fantasy? Anyone would think you wanted us to fail as a club so you could tell us you were right about Thorn!

with thorn we have memories of his mistakes this year but also the fact he hasnt been backed

if we look at the performances under thorn at the end of last season when we had westwood and king it really was so different,i remember when we drew 0-0 with reading after outplaying them that great times were ahead

because of that whilst i still think a boothroyd or dowie would have kept us up this year, i dont mind thorn getting a 2nd chance if he is allowed to assemble the team he wants

I agree other than the Boothroyd and Dowie comment. AT did much better with the squad Boothroyd had. We were playing well for the squad we had but had no players that could give us the finishing touch needed plus a lack of numbers that ultimately cost us at the end of the season.

Boothroyd had no plan B which is why the season sank quickly at the half way stage. People seem to think he had a wealth of players at his disposal when it frankly wasn't the case.

Boothroyd wasn't given long enough. I'd rather have boothroyd than thorn now.

Don't mix up peoples thoughts re thorn as a manager with their thoughts on him as a man. You would find it hard to find anyone who dislikes the man.

Thorn has handled his situation with real dignity I don't deny that. I just think putting a rookie in charge at a time we needed real experiance over a nice persona was a huge mistake.

Good luck to him if he is still here and he gets back up the first season their will be plenty of support for him.

If we go down though due to a lack of experienceof tactical ineptness I can see it destroying his career and our club.
