There wouldn't be a hope in hell of getting keane. Or anyone like that. U realise we have to pay them and they have to find a reason to want to takeover an impossible job. Whoever it is would be a rookie or a failure elsewhere who is out of work and cheap. I guess Gary Johnson may fit the bill now.

Roy Keane... No chance! No chance would he come, no chance would we pay for him, no chance would we play for him and no chance would I be happy with him.

Think cheaper, better and more accessible.

Who could honestly be worse? Thorn has a win percentage of about 15%.
If SISU remain Carsley or Dulieu (the one person who would be worse) are sadly probably the only two realistic candidates due to the fact that no resources will be made available for anyone new.
If we have new investors then I'd go for Dennis Wise although perhaps someone who has done a decent job at a League One or League Two level would be ideal. We need a proven manager and not an over-promoted scout.

S'OD but as preparation for next season. Give him a five year deal let him speak wit hth eHoff etc first and tell him he will be allowed to keep all the kids and the budget he has. Won't happen but the only way we could go forward. As for Thorn, too late now should have happened weeks ago when we still had a chance.

We would have to be realistic, and Keane wouldn't be.
I wouldn't even want him tbf.

Realistic targets would be managers like Mark Robins, and O'Driscoll.
But Mark Robins wanted more money at Barnsley, and they have actuality done better since he left.
I would take O'Driscoll and thought he was unlucky to get sacked at Donny.

I think Paul Ince has done well before with no money so maybe him.

The following are big names who will sadly be out of our current price bracket:
Alan Curbishley
Billy Davies
Glenn Hoddle
Dave Jones
Dennis Wise

More realistic options are:

Mark Robins
Sean O'Driscoll
Steve Tilson
Dave Penney
Richard Money

Richard Money done a decent job at Walsall I think, wasn't he the person who bought Boateng to England when he was a coach here?

Do people think it's realistic to think we could keep Thorn as a scout?

All the ones out a job are for a reason. Davies going on about no money and spent 7-8 mill so no. S.o.d got sacked for a reason, they turned to shite over a period of 6 months not over night so no. Dave jones is one that gets a bit of credit but need money so no. Hoddle??? That would be all our disabled fans gone. Come on guys more realistic targets please. Sorry for moaning ccfc depress me at the mo.

I think way too many people undervalue the prestige of CCFC.

I'm certainly not saying that as a rose-tinted fanboy. The fact is that the club offers one of the top 50 managerial positions in the country (tho probably top 70 by the end of 2012). Think about all the coaches, lower-league managers, and out-of-work managers desperate to have one of those 50 spots.

The club also has more elasticity than many others. There's only so far you can take clubs from small towns, but CCFC does have the potential to grow in a big way.

Every time managers have previously been sacked, the club has cheerfully informed the fans that 30, 40, 50+ people have applied for the position. There would be no shortage of applicants, even with SISU at the helm. Don't underestimate the hubris of individuals or their desperation to be back in the game/earning a salary/remaining relevant.

If any manager wanted to help his reputation, they'd only need to look at the incredible amount of sympathy Thorn is getting to realise they can't really lose here, even if apparently they lose every week.

What we are looking for is a miracle worker !!!!!!!!
I think Sisu should go balls out for Mary Poppins but because of her Barcelona ties my back up would be Nanny Mcphee and also she's british no offence to Mary !!!

Any manager would be off his rocker to want this job.

Expected to get results from a bunch of poor league 1 players with no support from the owners and fans that want a new manager every 6 months.

There's absolutely zero expectation now, and the fans will seemingly put up with anything on the pitch with the current owners in charge, it's a no-lose as far as managerial reputations go. They can always leave and whine about it like Micky Adams.

League 1 players? I'd say League 2 and Youth Squad is more the correct level. It will be interesting to see who sticks around next season. Hopefully Keogh and Gael will still be here.

Cranie, Wood, Keogh, Clingan, Gardner, McSheffrey, Eastwood, Juke. Not world-beating names, I grant you, but the way some speak on here you'd think we were running out the U-16 team every week. They should be doing better.

with no support from the owners and fans that want a new manager every 6 months.

I really wish that was the case, but the guy is still in a job and has plenty of supporters among the fans, despite leading the team to merry relegation way, way ahead of any reasonable schedule.

Eastwood hasn't produce in this league since he was at Southend. Mcsheffrey isn't a championship player anymore - he peaked 2005/06-2006/07 and injuries have taken their toll. He couldn't get a game for Leeds when he went on loan in league one. We need to atop judging him on what he did then.

Gardner is a kid - he's made 3/4 first team appearances in his career - all here with us.

Clingan has been relegate 2 or 3 times from this league....is he really that good?

Cranie, keogh and juke are pretty good.

Wood is ok - however he played half a season in a Sheff weds team that got relegated.

The problem is the lack of quality in the final third, we've got Juke and that's it. If we went bust tomorrow and all of the players could join another team out of our forward players only juke would join a championship side - Mcsheffrey, baker, eastwood, rod, Cody, platt, bell would all be looking at joining league 1/2 clubs.

I'm amazed that us fans, are plucking names out of thin air, just because they are unemployed, and the reason
for there unemployment........"FAILURE" in most cases.
The name Roy Keane, keeps popping up, but what has he achieved in management, (Except get the sack) he lacks the personality Gene, falls out with players big time, and has achieved...."Nothing" except maybe the odd training ground punch up. Definately not on MY wish List.

Dennis wise, would be choice (If Availiable") he did a good job at Leeds, and would boost next seasons advanced ticket sales. of cause all this would need to be in the wake of an ambitious take over, which without, we are sunk.

Regards, my fine fellows....Tankie
