You would think the whole team is youth. When that late goal went in only Christie and Thomas were under 20. It's not youth that's the problem, it's the concentration which is the area of concern

Thorn is able to see flaws in the young players, the novices who are enduring their first season in competetive football and is more than happy to point out their mistakes in the process. However, he too is a novice in his new position and yet is unable to point out his own inadequacies and misktakes which he has and will make, inevitably.

really mumford, are you in a high pressure job where every decision that you make can literally mean your job is in jeopardy. While I don't agree with every single decision Thorn has made, I know that even the best managers don't make the best decision every time.

as for conceding a lot after 90 minutes, that's something that you can't stop overnight, only through experience can our kids overcome that but it will take time.

Spot on, Lloyd. Glad you're here, I thought I was alone here in the Thorn corner!

Lloyd I expect managers to know when a team is been dominate and something needs changing. That's my issue. Anyone with half a brain could tell there was only going to be one winner

Even you admitted something needed changing and so did everyone round me. So why didn't he?

just under half of our players were 22 or under, that's a lot of inexperienced players while you're a player down and pressure is increasing.

don't get me wrong, I would have taken Rod off around 85 - 90 mins and switch to more defensive play, however because of our inexperienced players I still think we would have conceeded, when you switch play you invite pressure anyway.

Even me? What's that meant to mean?! Even a retard like me?!

I think he didn't because Sammy, Bell and Thomas had all played well up until that point. You don't agree with that, which is why a reasoned debate between us will never occur.

Lloyd you telling me players like clingan, wood, Bell and keogh are blameless?

Non league - no what i mean is everyone pro thorn could even see something needed doing. But you still stick up for him instead of admitting he got it wrong. Thats what i mean. Your the one who used the word retard.

No i would have took ROD off. Simple.

The bottom line is when you are on the back foot and being overrun you try to change things. You don't just let the opposition continue to dominate things unabated.

Just implied an insult the way you used "even", but then a Thorn-supporter is an insult to your eyes!

I'm not "sticking up for him"-despite your view, this isn't the playground. I presented the reasons in a coherent argument: he kept Roy on because he'd just come on and wanted to retain a goal threat (he wasn't to know that he would go on to deliver his worst performance by far). He kept the midfield 3 on as they had all contributed good stuff up until then. And he kept Cyrus on as up to that point Keogh had played well at CB, Cameron is a youngster too, and he didn't want to disrupt the back-line.

To call him an un-dynamic manager is to forget that he made a double substitution at half time last game and stuck a CB up front.

So we gained a point Tuesday but lost 3 today. You do the maths?

it's a team game, no one is blameless, but you can't ignore the facts surrounding the game, i think thorn felt that the experience in the team (like clingan / keogh etc) could hold the game for a draw and that's why he didnt make any changes.

when it comes to making a substitution as a manager, you have to weigh up more than just the obvious.

answer me honestly, if we had held on to a draw, would you still be as annoyed with Thorn right now?

but we didn't did we. And after we scored we went to pot. That's a 1/3 of the match where he could have changed it when it werent going right.

Managers need to change when the game is not in there favour and with 20 mins to go we could see it was going to be a struggle.

Yea but everyone could see we were not going to hold onto a draw, the goal was coming.
Why should Thorn assume the experience of Keogh/Clingan etc. was enough to see the game out? It wasn't against other teams this season.

But it was plain to see there was only going to be one winner and just how many times have we let late goals in. Why did anyone think it was going to be any different today? Also tiredness is a factor. You bring subs on for fresh legs as much as anything else. Do you not think there is probably a link between letting late goals in and players being tired?

U don't think the ref had anything to do with it? One of the worst I've seen at the ricoh, we don't know how fit cody is either an to be fair to burnley they played well after we scored...thought Murphy played well...but we should of finished way before the sending off

you are wrong I was literally right in front of the incident and it was a sending off.

that's not what i asked mumford. i know we didnt get the draw and i'm annoyed like everyone else, but i don't jump to blam the manager for everything.

i almost feel like we're as bad as some Arsenal fans who want Wenger out.

I'm blaming for thorn not changing it! I praised thorn the other night and last week but today he was wrong. Shame some can't see that because the majority can.

I think we never really got to grips the whole second half ,we scored qgainst the run of play ,the ref definately made an impact on events regardless of sending off,it was so obvious christie cound'nt cope with stanislas second half .the change shoulld have been made either in midfield to support him ,or at the back to the same end ,AT without doubt got that wrong, and i'm for him by the way.

to some fans it doesnt matter if we're top of the league or floating around at the bottom, we still seem to want to go against the manager.

im not saying that thorn is not making mistakes, but he wont get all the decisions right all of the time, no manager does.

You ask anyone there and they'd say the same on first half. Murphy like today was outstanding. Half time he changed it and it worked. Today we were outplayed for most of the 2nd half and the only sub was goalscorer. He was wrong

How do you know the sub coming on would have miraculously turned the tide? You don't.

Where did I call you stupid. I said stupid comment. I'm going Millwall in a week and half. I'd gladly call you prick down there or at the wheatsheaf next home game.. I don't hide behind a computer with insults. Rather do in person.

I'm with Rich on this one. This is forum where everyone is entitled to express their view without fear of being called names or receiving threats. To do so simply puts to one side the whole reason for the forums existance.
