The game we can all play at home!

The first to cross them all off the list get's a bingo!

Hands Tied behind his back.

First 10 games.

Nothing to work with.

Great scout.

Best football for years

Best manager since (insert name here)

Tactically inept

Can't close out a game.

Worst record for a hundred years

Dreadful football.

Shouldn't take long before we get:

Could also play fans on this site cliche bingo. Or to be fair absolutely any manager or player involved in football or any sport come to think of it.

Sorry buddy, not really worth its own thread IMO and just another dig at AT.

Not if they've been sold out from under you.

You could both get sold to Cardiff for a fraction of your value.

Forgot the "Fergie and Mourinho" ones.

Have to go on the list.

Well, I think some in recent days have questioned the existence of, or postings from an inherently anti-Thorn clique. I presume this thread now renders that question rhetorical?

Some would see it as a bit of light hearted banter...

Were the subject of such pointed humour not the same upon every single occasion, perhaps so. But when it's not; it's not

I am pretty sure people are posting cliches whether they are positive or negative? It is more taking out of the people on here / ourselves than Thorn?

Dear chap are you seeing the same post as me?

I thought we were highlighting the supposed cliches that we the fans use when talking about Thorn, and its not actually referring to what Thron says himself.

As the cliches relate to descriptions of him from both the supposed 'hate' and 'love' Thorn camps then how is the post a direct attack on him.

It seems that at present there seems to be a few who are a little too prickly on anything relating to Thorn.

Maybe if people lightened up a bit, it wouldn't be so prickly?

Have just cleaned the post up with the bickering. It is a little bit of banter.

Yeah, apologies if I was a prime contributor. 'Prick to my prickly' was intended as banter too, but I can see it was perhaps more inflammatory to others. Have a good thread!

No need for it to become a slanging match is it? It was just taking the mick out of city fans / ourselves with the cliches about Thorn that are used.

You misunderstand my objections old boy, permit me to explain.

By quoting in clichés, as opposed to using words to articulate view will have the same result. You simply know that the same old phrases and words will get trotted out - clueless, fat, stupid, etc. by the anti-Thorn detractors; which will be met by similarly wild and fanciful claims by the so-called pro-Thorn camp - which will end up in the same well-trodden tirade of abuse, tired statistics being thrown on the floor and the same old argument will ensure.

Whether it's a cliché or statement, is only a case of semantics. It'll just give rise to the same old divisive and negative fare.

I think there are posters of sufficient quality on both sides of the fence to have a frankly better debate at this stage of pre-season. That's my stance in any case

OR people could get a sense of humour and see the post for what it was as a mickey take without getting deep and reading too much into it?

I off to spend my sisu dollar to buy a seance do I can ressurect my chum Harry Lovett. You know Harry the chap who had the worst record for 100 years and ask how he feels now that AT has took his record. Apparantly things were so bad in them days he had his head chopped off as well as his arms and legs.

Is there a few bonus prizes say if someone says "give him £2 million and he'll get any team promoted" or "west ham would have 10 more points with AT in charge".

Isn't cliches one of the mandatory courses in the coaching qualifications all managers must get these days?
