Is that deal a loan or a perm?

They should try and get an extension sorted either way.

He’ll be back.....he’s not even on the fringes of Derby’s first team

From what I've heard from my Derby supporting mates it pretty much cut and dry that he will be staying.

I can't see him getting more game time or better quality experience at any other L1 club.
I doubt that Derby would loan him to a Champ. rival.
So unless he's close to starting at Derby, and how could he be as he hasn't played for them recently, I can't see why they wouldn't extend the loan, unless there are personal circumstances

May sound dramatic, but it’s pivotal to our season he stays. He’s our only constantly reliable outlet; his pace and trickery scare teams, and he’s one of the few direct players we have.

We need another winger as it is, so if he does return to Derby, we’ll need two, which I think is a tough ask during a January window.

Stop it, Nick! That sort of humour just doesn't wash with me, but losing him has been a bit of a blow.

His pace always offers us an outlet, and I suspect he is the player whose absence will impact us the most. I presume he will have to miss the next 2 games, so it might present an opportunity for Allessani I guess, although I'm not convinced MR believes he is ready yet.

Hes been great his curling crosses and shots that shave the post, his pace is fantastic and hes not a 1 trick pony, tail between his legs sometime and blows hot and cold but slick as well

On a serious note Thomas had stitches in a cut to his head so shouldn't be out long term
It looks more likely he'll stay with us for the season now so fingers crossed

Do they just play with a bandage to protect the stitches?

Don't know the full details but it's likely he's been stood down for a period under the concussion rules

If they have a head injury how long does it take for them to come back?

The FA and Premier League have set out clear 'return to play' guidelines for players who are suspected to have suffered concussion. Essentially, no player will be allowed to return for a competitive game for at least six days.

There is no blood test or scan which can diagnose concussion. Diagnosis is made on the basis of history and examination.

The guidelines work on a step-by-step basis, with a player only allowed to progress a step every 24 hours - although this process can often take longer. The steps are: No physical activity, light aerobic exercise, sport specific exercise, non-contact training drills, full contact training, return to play (after an all-clear from the club's medical officer).
