No not at all! Rudoni was tiring early in that second half imo, but still offered a decent amount of quality at times, so can see why he was left on tbh. Him and Wright are the ones who are likely to get the last minute goal or assist.

We were inches away from winning that (or a few feet away from losing it)

I didn't think Haji's late chance was a sitter as suggested on CWR by some.

BTA was poor again yesterday but Frank loves him.

Every manager is the same, they all have a player that they believe in far more than the fans do, for Frank it is BTA.

We could see their left back was their for the taking and Rapha or Tats would have given him far more problems second half than BTA but Tats wasn’t fit and Frank doesn’t yet trust Rapha !

Cup games is the only real opportunity for you to give fringe players a chance to play. It’s not that he doesn’t give a shit about it at all, all clubs use the league cup to assist with getting fringe players match fit.

That much time and space in the box your striker should be scoring. Sitter is of course subjective but I expect more from Wright there.

Don’t think it’s a belief that BTA is a world beater. Just that he knows what he’s getting. Saka starts when fit.

This is just “all clubs don’t give a shit”. Playing fringe players because you don’t give a shit is still not giving a shit.

Mate, even Simms would of buried it!

Well maybe not Simms, but it was an absolute sitter, a gilt edged gift of a chance, served up on a shiny plate by some great work from Sakamoto.

There was a clip in Oxford highlights showing BTA on a dribble. He never once had ball under control, nearly tackled himself before giving ball away.

But in 4 championship games BTA has already managed 50% of the goals that Sakamoto delivered in the whole of last season, as well adding assists.

Yes BTA can be frustrating to watch, but he's 100% stronger and more physical that Sakamoto, and at the end of the day goals win matches, and with Asante in the side we are run away top scorers.

If your looking at improving the side, its a keeper and centre halves that can defend set pieces that we need.

Indeed. It was very disappointing he didn't even get it on target but if he had there was still a decent chance it got saved or blocked.

.... but BTA only scored 4 league goals himself last season! Having scored 2 this season those stats suggest we can expect a bit of a drought moving forward.

Saka provides far more to the team. He gives us more balance, better coverage for our wing back, is more likely to provide assists and retains posession better than BTA. If both are fit playing Saka ahead of BTA is a no brainer.

The problem is that Saka doesn’t offer that much of an attacking threat, it must be said.

He’s obviously a better RW than BTA because that’s his position but Lampard is looking to upgrade that area of the pitch. If the reports about Rak-Sakyi (Palace) are true, they’re looking to upgrade at winger.

Yes he's improved a lot. His control at times is staggering, in a bad way, then he pulls that one out, which was staggering in a good way. But generally looks way more threatening, very fit and takes up good positions. Signs are we'll get a much better contribution from him this season.

Actually makes it more annoying we didn’t get a right-sided ‘inside forward’ type sorted during the summer. Yes BTA is doing alright so far this season but if we had a higher-quality player starting in that role…

We are also very much more open when he's on. Doesn't have the work ethics to track back like tats.

Also we switched 433 when Simms and Asanate come on.

Think Asante has come on. And for a change was excellent subs by lamps.

Both Simms and Asante really gave us that force up. We have the squad glad we are using it.

Sakamoto had a good game yesterday I thought... would've had an assist on another day.

They are a decent pair to rotate between, both offer something completely different.

Yeh the cross to EMC was delicious. He works very well with MvE and his close control and tricky feet constantly keeps defenders on their toes. 2 completely different players. Opposition fans always seem to have high praise for him too which says a lot, seen a lot of it for EMC too recently.

Mason-Clark has created the most chances from open play in the league so far. Not something I’d have thought tbh.

He's a very very good player tbh. Again, another one that seems to have gone up a notch. Think out of all the hyped Peterborough superstars we may have got the best one, top recruitment again.

Ripped them to shreds for 60 mins on saturday. Their full back would have been in the dressing room crying at HT, the problem is we didn't do it enough second half.

Every position could be upgraded, that is the nature of football.

Right sided attacker would appear to be the priority.

You're comparing apples with oranges. When BTA plays he is extremely central, virtually as a second striker at time. When Sakamoto plays he plays as a winger, as he is a winger. I do agree he could attack the box more but he is usually attacking the back post when EMC is getting the ball in.

I think people are getting a little bit carried away with the QPR result, and putting 2 and 2 together. We created way more on Saturday than we did against QPR, 4 xG Vs 1.27 xG. The issue is players only hitting the target 4 times despite having 28 shots.

EMC scores that header from Sakamoto's brilliant cross, we win that 3 or 4 nil.

BTA has had a good start to the season though.

His issue is, he does the hard stuff but struggles with the basics.
