I like him.

Just not for England and just not playing football.

We have been shit, but we have won somehow, harry Kane is the only world class player in this team.
Southgate really does need to go, should never have been appointed.

How are they wanking over a tap in?

Well that was shite. At least this time we will be going to the world cup with 0 expectations. I'd be delighted if we got out of the fucking group.

Had £1 on a 5 fold that was 3.4/1 that England goal means I'm now rolling in it! Going to go mad and spend it on a Tesco lunch meal deal tomorrow!

Take any goal after that game. No different to Doyle’s against Swindon was it?

What was Southgate doing with the sub towards the end? He must know Michael is the English Keane and Robbie isn’t?!

If hoddle was creaming himself over doyles goal it would have been the same.

Southgate was defending the draw

Oh well. Was gonna leave on 90 but stayed for the end and was rewarded with a goal. Germany looked a different class.

To be fair, they were compared to us. Oh well, sounds better than the England game.

What worries me most is these players shouldn't need someone screaming on the touchline telling them to pull their fingers out. Surely they should be capable of realising themselves that they need to up the pace.

Southgate most definitely is not the answer but the players need to put the effort in in the first place.

Don't care how we played during the qualifiers, its the result that counts and qualifying for tournaments.

However, we gotta be better than in past tournaments, not sure Southgate is the man to do that.

Christ, is Hoddle still commentating?! Southgate was playing for the draw. It’s almost like he told them all off for attacking too much at half time.

Needs to be a huge improvement if we're to get anywhere in the finals.

4 points each or better for Wales and Bosnia from their last 2 games.
2 or more points for Sweden from their last 2.
Scotland draw with Slovenia.

The above scenario would mean Scotland finish second in a major tournament qualification group for the first time in 14 years but wouldn’t qualify for the play offs. Now that wouldn’t be funny. It’d be absolutely hilarious.

I watched a couple of minutes of the England game then seen that god awful Coventry flag behind one of the goals. Switched over to Scotland - much more entertaining game and refreshing to see a bit of passion on and off the pitch for a change. Hampden crowd puts Wembley to shame.

Another rubbish game.
How can a starting England central midfielder be someone who can only make the bench at Liverpool????
Usual problems - can't breakdown sides that sit deep, always look vulnerable against the counter-attack, still haven't got a player that can take control of the pace of the game.
Still don't understand how Southgate got the job aside from having been an FA crony for years.
And after an incredible summer for the age-group teams they'll now suffer a halt in their development for the next 4 or 5 years because they won't get 1st team football at a high level. Interesting piece earlier this week comparing the amount of top flight football U21s get in top European leagues - English well behind other nations.

I dont have this hatred for the scots
maybe because in 74 and 78 we were all scottish for those world cups
Last night, I got so bored with the England game i switched over to scotland and celebrated the goal

I would love all 4 home countries to be in the finals (albeit more likely that it will be 2 at most)

Come up here and live with them, that might change your mind. There are a lot of them who support ABE (Anyone but England) and it's shocking how many shirts are sold of teams that England are playing in finals. They have more of a fixation with 1966 than we have and there have been many times when I have been told that we always go on about it, yet it was them who brought it up. I also think England fans are finally lowering their expectations that we aren't good enough to win a major championship but again some Scots think we always think we are going to win the final. Do I want them to qualify? No chance!!!

I would love them to qualify, I generally have a split loyalty between England and Scotland. All my family are Glaswegian but I was born in Coventry.

Yes there is a hatred for every English up there but it also annoys them just as much the fact that we don't reciprocate.

I once bought a Proclaimers album and used to fancy Claire Grogan, so I have split loyalties too.

Got quite a few Hungarian friends who've moved to Scotland to work. They can't believe the levels of animosity towards the English or the fact that the English don't care about it.

Fair play to you. Each to our own. I can’t remember ever wanting the Scotland, Wales or NI football teams win. It’s the same as hoping for a Villa, Wolves or Leicester victory.

Don’t blame you for being bored. Hard not to be after that second half.

Watching Wales V Georgia right now in Welsh language, they could just have put it to bed by going 2-0 but Vokes lacked a little composure from a rebound.

must be an age thing also in the 70s with hutch/blyth/wallace around the squad (albeit scotland were good in those days so didnt get the caps they would today)
