This time 5 years ago we were 4th in the championship, with 14 games in like today. Apart from we had 1 less point. Thorn took over in the March and we finished that season at 18th. That's if Wikipedia is right.
Do you think we'll keep it up this season or in not so great sky blue fashion we'll fall from the sky.
After a good start under Bothroyd we totally imploded. As I recall, Crystal Palace - who were having a really rubbish season - were the only team we beat in something like 4 months.
If Bothroyd had stayed, any points we'd got from that time would have been a bonus. We may have just about stayed up, but I think it would have been too close for comfort.
I seem to remember we were doing well until Marlon King turned up. I remember watching him making his debut away at Sheffield United when he came on as a sub. After he started playing in the first team our form suddenly took a turn for the worst.
Along with the idiots singing "she said yes marlon" & Thorn taking the reigns, it was a dreadful season.
As I recall, a combination of the Talismanic Ben Turner getting injured against Leeds around November time, ruling him out for the season, and teams sussing out Hoofroyds primitive tactics saw us plummet from December onwards.
