Last season on Christmas Day we were 13th and nine points of the play-offs, this season we are 13th and ten points of the play offs (baring in mind that we also had a ten point deduction, which currently would leave us 7th), if we can replicate the first half of the season maybe we will have a play-off spot to cheer at the end of the season a feeling that I can emphasise after the way we played on Saturday. If we play like that consistently we will not lose often after Christmas.

All I am hoping for is that santa gives us a decent defence this year.

No reason (on the pitch) why we can't have a decent second half to the season. Play Offs don't appear to be realistic, but defensive frailties aside, we are capable of beating anyone in the division. Some quietly confident Posh fans in the office this morning by the way - they expect lots of goals on Boxing Day for some reason!

One reason is strength in depth.
We have a good 11 but if one of then is injured we cannot make up the loss and become average.
Any player lost in January will mean the end of our season.

Fair point - we do need to have some luck with this, especially Leon and the other more experienced players

Staying up is the key aim obviously, and we are not there yet, but I feel a top ten finish is within reach (I am not normally as bulish as this with City!).

Of course they're a few kinks that need to be adressed those being the defensive frailties and living in the hope that we have a squad with enough depth, but back to Saturday for a moment until Swindon's speculative equaliser our defence was strong and didn't look like it was going to concede.

I agree we are not far away and according to the reports we played very well against Swindon. Conceding two late goals in a game is a lack of concentration.

In fairness there equaliser was very good on the volley from the edge of the Area, Smurf look un-sited as it came past bodies and into the corner, the lads did defend the set piece well if anything all you can say is they didn't close the player down on the edge of the area quick enough.

The second it looked like Clarke was expecting the offside flag and Storey used his pace to come across Seaborne and finish nicely over Smurf, it did look on side from where I was to be fair but it wasn't just Clarke, Cryus and Blair both stopped as well.
