48 teams enter from League One and League Two.
Clubs are assigned to one of four areas for the purposes of the cup draws: Northern Section – East and West, Southern Section – East and West
  • Round One, 16 games – 16 teams receive a bye to Round Two, while the remaining 32 play single game ties
  • Round Two, 16 games – 32 teams play another single game tie
The cup draw pots are now merged, leaving just a Northern and Southern section
  • Area Quarter Finals, 8 games – 16 teams play a single game tie
  • Area Semi-Finals, 4 games – 8 teams play a single game tie
Drawing is no longer necessary for the final 4 teams
  • Area finals – effectively the competition's semi-finals, the two remaining teams in each section play each other in two-legged game ties, home and away
  • Final – between the Northern and Southern area winners
..............................................

These 16 teams that get a bye, how come we were not one of them ?

Were Doncaster one ?

Is that a daft question ?

No idea, though makes the 2nd round draw more complicated than just looking at tonights winners :thinking about:

Think they did a draw for the bye and it was just random

So we're in the 2nd round of the JPT, which is the equivalent of the 4th round of the FA cup in terms of games to wembley!

Long way to go lol!!

No matter how tinpot thIs competition realistically it's the best chance we have of getting to wembley for 25 years and celebrating a little "success". Would be nice of the team, the manager and the fans could appreciate this and make the most of the opportunity and make the most of the shitty position we currently find ourselves in.

Difference being we are in the top league in the competition, so the equivalent of being a Prem team in the 4th round of the FA Cup.
