Brilliant piece in CET. Just puts what we are currently doing into perspective. How anyone could not enjoy this current team is beyond me!

Here is the article -

For the first time in Coventry City’s history the team have entered February with only three league defeats.
Back in 1964 Jimmy Hills impressive side suffered their fourth defeat on January 22 and went on the be third division Champions, which they won on goal average back in the day.
The Sky Blues scraped the title on the last day of the season, having gone on a worrying run of 11 games without a win before finally pipping Crystal Palace at the post.
City’s record for the fewest number of defeats is six in the 1966-67 promotion season, all of which came before end of November.
And the club's official statistician and historian Jim Brown says: “Fans should recognise they are enjoying one of the finest seasons in the club’s history. “Seasons like this come along very rarely and we need to enjoy it. “This is the best run to this point in the season the club have ever had.
“City had a great side back in 1963/64 and they were seven points clear on New Year’s Day and then they had a terrible run when they didn’t win for 11 games and were overtaken by Crystal Palace.
“But they recovered some form and won on the final day when Palace lost and they were crowned champions.”

He added: “If they go up this season it might well rank among the best seasons in the club’s history.
“Points-wise they are probably behind the ‘64 side and 1966/67 promotion side because of all the draws they’ve had. But in terms of losses, losing just three to date is a fantastic achievement.
“The away form has picked up since Christmas and I just think they look very impressive at the moment.
“There was a bit of disappointment after the goalless draw at Fleetwood last week but I thought it was a great result, particularly considering their home record of having lost just once.

“I’m very excited and confident. But the one thing I would say is that from here on in it’s all about points for me now. I don’t think it really matters how they play.
“When we went up to the First Division in 1967 Jimmy Hill’s team kicked their way to promotion in the end.
“They didn’t win that many games away from home, only six that season and recorded a lot of draws and went unbeaten for 25 games, but a lot of those games were dug out."

They forgot to say that only one team has outplayed us, Rotherham. We totally outplayed Tranmere at home and missed a load of chances, and we lost to Shrewsbury in added on time after being ahead. We may not have been the best team in every game but we always managed to get a result in the other 24 games.
Now that is impressive

Not to mention the last gasp equalisers at Oxford, Peterborough and Sunderland, should have beaten MK Dons too. That’s a lot of points chucked away but I think we are a better team now.
