Report says King has agreed term with Birmingham
By Covsupport News Service/RD
Updated Tuesday, 7th June 2011
Coventry City RSS Feed

Rumour, gossip or truth, who knows?
The Mirror Football is today claiming that Marlon King, who was supposed to have made a verbal agreement to remain at Coventry City for another two years, has been offered better terms at Birmingham City and he has accepted them.
Mirror Football claims that King has accepted a deal said to be worth £15,000 a week to the striker and that instead of signing for Coventry City, he will now sign a two year deal for recently relegated Birmingham City when he returns from his holiday.
If the report is true, it would appear that King has gone back on his word to Coventry City manager Andy King and chairman Ken Dulieu when last week he is reported to have phoned Thorn and informed him that he had accepted Coventry City's terms for a two year deal.
If there is any truth in the report, it means that Birmingham City contacted King, or his agent Tony Finnegan after King had made his verbal agreement to sign for Coventry City and which raises ethical and moral questions.

Can we just stop posts about Marlon King now unless it's NEWS.
Not speculation but actual confirmed news? Cus I'm really getting tired of it now

It doesn't raise ethical or moral questions at all, it just shows you up as gullible fools.

Why would anyone believe a word that a player or his agent said and then shout off to the papers, unless they were trying sell more season tickets of course?

You don't say a dickie bird until the ink is on the paper.

Couldn't agree more, until he comes back and announces where he will be playing, I won't be interested in speculation and wind up merchants.

My posts have dropped off recently. Why? Because people keep raising threads about the same thing. Do you realise that the same convo, under different threads has been going on for at least a month. King is on Holiday, why would he comment on anything while he's on holiday. I would leave work at home and deal with it when I get back. For MK to verbally commit whilst away, is his side of the story (respect for this). Just wait until the end of this week when he's back. Then criticise him for staying quiet if he does. For now the bloke has been in jail, gone straight to work on his release and probably hasn't had a break in 24months or more. Leave it until he returns to work.

We all want him to stay, but gossip can't do anyone any good. Lets just see who's piece of paper he writes his name on, only then will we truly know what's going on.

In one of Brodys tweets it says "Getting the contract into his hands isn't the problem. That is the easy part!" When asked what the hard part was he replied
"getting beyond a verbal agreement to signature."

That sounds to me as if King is having second thoughts and doesn't want to stay now.

I expect these reports that he may sign for Birmingham may be true

I don't think breathing is the issue - I'm very happy you're doing that. I think the issue is creating new threads based on hearsay - and I never liked their music

In the close season, without gossip and hearsay the football side of the internet would die off and Sky Sports News would be on about five minutes a day.

Ok, maybe there are upsides.

Pure and simple?

Sorry.

I don't know about the accuracy of the report, I hope there's no truth to it, but it wouldn't be a surprise for Marlon to move to Birmingham (as they're, let's face it, more likely to go back up quicker), but it would be a shame if he's already verbally committed himself to Cov for this season.

Wait and see, I guess!

Untill he has a picture of him with a pen signing that bit of paper (not his prison release papers) sat on the back of the telegraph he is going to look elsewhere. Sit tight, this one is going to be a bumpy ride methinks!

That's because it's in the threads that already exist about will he wont he? There's no need to start a new thread when the subject is already in discussion (will he, wont he).

TBH I think it's a disgrace that you are still breathing Steve. If I see you I'll gladly stick a bag on your head. You really are pushing me young man, I'm a psychopathic cereal killer (Rice Crispies) and you have got on the wrong side of me. You'd be best to just end it now.

Or you can accept that it's a forum and I am allowed to moan about multiple threads on the same subject, as you are allowed to start said threads.

Love you really, In my head you look like baby Jebus.

I don't think he looks like a Babybel. That's quite offensive, I think you should apologise.

Although in my head there is some resemblance as he has a very bright red face, like he's been holding his breath for ages.
