You decide your preference, then include it in the instructions to prevent frivolous use of either hand.

OK. Will try tonight, I brush at 10pm.

FYI. I'm on a water meter now, didn't really care before, but with severn devil trent charging through the roof I decided to leave their projected bills and have a meter installed.
Current daily usage of 0.233m3 per day.

When I'm brushing my teeth I always try to turn off the water while brushing, to save money and better the environment. But I tend to forget to turn in off after each swill and end up leaving it running longer than intended. Toothpaste toothbrush, turn on tap, soak toothbrush, turn off tap, brush brush brush, time to rinse, turn on tap, resoak toothbrush, brush teeth, turn off tap.
It's really annoying me as I forget to turn off the tap after the swill and only realise 10-20 seconds later, but by then it's too late and the damage is done.
Any advice?

Push button taps, like they have in public toilets. They never stay on too long.

You’re not supposed to swill after brushing so there’s that.
