As a FIFA fan, I thought this may be useful to find out whether some things are down to my ability, my internet connection, or just FIFA being FIFA!

The jerky online play from time to time, I put this down to the other person's internet as it's generally okay. But the problem is they are used to it, so I find it hard to play against as it's constantly freezing etc.

The classic, your own two players falling over each other, conveniently in a way that allows the opponent to pick up the ball in a one v one situation and score.

The variance in fouls, bookings and red cards etc.

Any others??

Yeah I agree. I think the connection thing is either yourself or the opponent. Either way, turn WiFi off your phone / tablet as that interferes with the connection. Completely agree with players falling over each other. And 45th / 90th min goals! Its a bit scripted tbh.

Just literally had one. Scored a flukey deflected goal on 83 mins, to be winning 2-1, then conceded a 89th min penalty, that wasn't a penalty, just shoulder to shoulder :banghead:

The only way to stop them, is two foot the bar steward, which gives away.... a penalty and probably a goal

Also, does anyone else find the passing is poor? I play as Cov mainly.

But if there is 2 of my players in space, with an opponent in between the two, my player will pass to the opponent 90% of the time :banghead:

Also, the lack of red cards for keepers! The amount of times their keeper takes me out in one on one, resulting in a pen, but normally no card at all, never mind red!

Not bring able to start as a sub in the player career mode. You either play from the start or your completely left out. Also the career transfers are bad - no contract expiry means you could be stuck with one club forever

Also, the through balls. When you tap triangle, it hoofs it, when you hold it, it passes it 2 yards to the opponent....

And offsides, actually had one that was onside, but must have been a glitch.

Just wish the players would pass the ball before the player ran offside.

The fact that some games your players will simply forget how to play football, every pass goes astray, their pace is non-existant, getting closed down within seconds, every touch is awful etc etc.

There's some online games where you feel like FIFA has pre-determined the winner before KO, and nothing you do can possibly change that.

Yep, I usually find in a league there are patterns on ultimate team.

I can absolutely hammer the first 5 games, then can't win to save my life so it's a struggle to win the title (or the other way round).

Sounds far too close to reality, you are talking about a computer game, aren't you?!

The menus. In particular, one thing they've never changed:

If you want to create a custom tournament, say a World Cup. To select 32 teams, ideally you'd be able to go through a list and select them all in one go. Not FIFA, which makes you scroll down to the next blank space, click 'add team', scroll from the starting point of whichever side you've picked as your team and do each one individually.

The amount of times I'm playing someone online who wear the same coloured shirts as the referee!!!

Also, when you play someone in white, and it's blazing sunshine, hard to see the difference between our home shirt and a white shirt.

Playing a game at the minute, 4-0 down due to 3 fluky goals. The team I'm playing, the ref, and their keeper, all wearing red. 3 out of 4 goals, glitches.

one on one, keeper takes out Armstrong, goal scoring opportunity, not even a yellow.

The scripting by far worst bit of fifa. How dare they influence results. Just leave it to best man wins

It's so frustrating. Normally when you're beating someone 3-0 they quit anyway, so there's no need for the scripting.

Also, funny how they never script it in my favor

Just beat Oldham 4-0 away.

Alan Smith: "Yeah, I think they just about deserved the win"

Really? :joyful:

I've given up on FIFA. I think they've gone down hill since 14, Pace dominates and it seems that despite playing the perfect game for 89 mins 1 min of AI madness and the game is lost. I got the platinum trophy for 17 after about a month then sold. Hoping 18 gets better.

The scripting is infuriating. They claim it doesn't exist but when you play FUT 99% of the times I play a team with better stats I win and 99% of the time I play a team with worse stats I lose. It's so obvious. I can understand why they would make it slightly easier for people at the start to get them in to the game but if people always lose then they will find their natural division and win some at this level. This pre determined worse teams are better thing makes me not want to buy the game any more and is completely the opposite of what they intend.

I don't play online at all, but in career the following rile me...

Homesick players being sold behind your back by the board. Adjapong (decent young RB) claims he's homesick after I've just won CL, FA Cup and 2nd in Premiership. Transfer list him as per the boards decision and he goes to Bournemouth as their first opportunity to sell... usually for less than he's worth too.
Rotating players so that they keep happy, conversation with player that they are loving their time here then the transfer window shuts and they demand a move... Rusnak did this to me across 2 seasons the dick.
Lack of ability to move stadiums so you can up capacity / revenues.
Re-gens should drop back into your youth team if you've had the retiring player rather than them going to another team in your division and you having to pay for them again.
