Could you imagine me supporting a club like FC Baarn or FC Utrecht? :emoji_stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:
On the Barca game last night, the commentator was droning on about how rare it is to see a player change their boots at half time. Can tell they have probably never watched anything below Premier League level as there are so many who do change their boots at half time because of pitches.
Not sure if it was just me but that pitch looked remarkably wet. Looked like there was constant spray going up when the ball moved.
I was brought up in Coventry, didn't become aware of the Dutch ancestry until much later.Where does your City connection come from mate?
On the other hand - is there not some kind of smug inverted snobbery going on here?
How many of posters slating so called glory hunters have the 'I am a true supporter because you I go to every home game' without regard for circumstance. Like some have a busy social life away from football; work on Saturdays; have lost their jobs but have hungry mouths to feed; live hours away & consider it isn't worth the time, money or effort to watch L1 (or even Premiership standard fare); volunteer to coach kids teams to provide the pipeline for the next home-grown City star - & many more reasons. Does it mean they are glory hunting if they miss a social event, break the bank & go into debt or let down the kids' team to treat themselves to the odd big game?
Would those who think themselves better supporters rather we went to something like the play off final with only 12k 'proper' supporters behind the team? Or pack the place?
Guess it all depends what constitutes a glory hunter, or even 'support' in one's own considered opinion.

Ya agree glory fan is lower on totem pole than half interested local club fanI don't think you can compare day trippers for CCFC to glory hunting Man U, City, Chelsea, Arsenal etc fans to be fair.
Most Man U "fans" have zero affiliation to the club, they support them purely because of the glory/brand. Now they are not top dog, people I know who are "Man U til they die" renounced their support under Mourinho and one person I work with couldn't even be bothered to watch them V Barcelona in the second leg on TV because he knew they'd lose.

Slightly off-topic, but I was driving back from town earlier and had Talksport on to hear the result of the Bournemouth v Spurs game. One of the pundits said Tottenham’s net spend has only been £9m since Pochettino took over, and they need to spend at least £100m in the summer or they’re in trouble.
Is it really necessary for any team to spend £100m? Stupid money that would keep the entirety of L1 and L2 going for a year I expect.
