Asked if he’ll get the money from Clarke’s switch to Molineux to spend on strengthening his squad, he said: “We’ll be utilising that to bring in loan players of good quality.

“Everything we’re trying to do just now is on loan because being close to the end of the window all the prices are getting inflated and it’s so difficult to do business. It’s okay if you’re the selling club because you can force the money up. So I don’t think there will be any permanent signings.”

Makes sense to be honest. Good players we would want now but cost us 500K-1Mill and apart from Clarkes fee we haven't got it.

Good shout really. Better to have quality than quantity.

Brian really does make me chuckle sometimes lol

Yh I have no problem with loan signings. Common thing in the lower leagues, Id rather sign a few decent loanees than 1 perm I think.

People have suggested that Delfouneso's loan deal goes past the end of the season to the end of his Villa contract, so if there's a chance any of them are loan with an eye on a permanent deal like with Seaborne, I'd be happy with that being the general way we go. Although try before you buy has burnt us before with Leigh Mills.

All the loan players have been excellent signings, with Callum to come back as well we will be a force!

I have no problem with a try before you buy, but if we have intentions of buying any of them after their loan, I hope we have already fixed the price. I'd hate to bring these guys through to really shine only to bump up their price so we couldn't afford them.

At least they are all long term loans - the 28 day emergency ones are very rarely a success. Very happy with all 3 so far. Not quite convinced by the on trial after drug ban guy but I guess nothing to lose on that one.

Well hopefully they'll be crap so we can get them on the cheap.

If we turned down two previous offers then I presume we did.

I've heard conflicting figures of £450k and £750k that's all, including one post that suggested we had reduced the price to get him off the books.

I'd read somewhere £500k upfront and £250k on wolves getting promotion.

Statements absolutely fair but I am still fearful for the future of our club when no permanent long term deals are made

I have no issues either with the try before you buy ... however, no fan will forget in the summer, that SISU have the money from Clarke in their back pocket, we have long memories ... so buying in the summer someone or two, would be expected ... albeit unlikely to come to fruition !

Never any doubt whatsoever in my mind. SISU pay for a player on a permanent deal? No chance. Once again, at the end of the season after all players are recalled to their clubs, we'll be even more threadbare than this season....Moussa, Christie, and possibly Fleck to go yet. IMHO.

torchomatic....If we turned down two previous offers then I presume we did.............................................................................If we gave them a price, and they offered on three seperate occasions, I would say they didn't offer the amount we wanted in the first place. In fact I would bet we let him go for far less than our original price!

My brother and I had a one-game trial for the youth squad back in '98, while we were visiting family in England for a week. It was against Nun Boro. We "were't want they were looking for," but I will offer myself up once more. And it's a free signing!

Everton don't seem to mind that their team is one full of loanees.

I agree, that's the key, 28 days they never get the chance to settle and invariably, if desperate, the owning club call them back early in any case ... so what's the point !

Saving yourself from having to play a 16 year old or defender as a striker?
