Why don't we just stand a man on the touchline in front of the thrower. Surely would stop thrower momentum.
The worst culprit was Norton-Cuffey....
Totally oblivious to Diangana running behind him to tap the ball in... very poor.

Wilson should have come out for the one last night, too many players were waiting for someone else to take responsibility. If it’s a long looping throw into the six yard box, the goalkeeper should catch it all day long.
But that would mean Wilson moving from his goal line from a set piece. Never happens!Wilson should have come out for the one last night, too many players were waiting for someone else to take responsibility.
To defend Wilson a bit, the lad on "blocking" duties at corners could have been his conjoined twin. Why is obstruction never punished these days?
It was in the six yard box. He could have walked out to the f****** thing. But that would mean Wilson moving from his goal line from a set piece. Never happens!
There was no one on him from the long throw though. To defend Wilson a bit, the lad on "blocking" duties at corners could have been his conjoined twin. Why is obstruction never punished these days?
Fairynuff, didn't see that I assumed that no offside they'd have tried that for a close throw in too. There was no one on him from the long throw though.
Regardless of where the throw was taken from, we had 5 defenders on the pitch, 3 of whom are well over 6 foot.I pointed out in the match thread that Furlong moved right back up the touchline to give him a huge advantage in terms of angle when taking that throw in. If it had been a free kick in the corner, the referee and lino would never have let him move the ball back up the field in the same manner. He then took the p*ss, after having been booked for the timewasting towel incident towards the end, by continuing to towel the ball, then snuck another 10 yards down the pitch before taking it.
I think the lino/ref could/should mark where the ball has gone out of play (as per free kicks) to stop players blatantly moving up the pitch the minute the ref has turned his back (they could even have an extra official (s) tasked with it to stop it eating up time)
Edit: This is something I was disappointed that someone in our team didn't challenge the ref about, before the throw in for the goal came about. I was shouting at the TV.
It's such a dangerous tactic, don't think we've had one since GunnarssonRegardless I don’t get why we haven’t got at least one player working on developing a long throw.

All that shows is he moved about 2 feet down the touch line rather than 10 yards. Just one change for me was doyle needed to win the headerI doubt if you can throw the ball that far anyway if you apply the rules properly. Both feet are supposed to be on the ground, and his technique needs to be examined and called out by the authorities IMO. Why isn't the linesman watching him?

What’s wrong with it?Illegally launching the ball into the 6 yard box like that all season is going to be a huge unfair advantage to West Brom if the officials keep allowing it.
Looks like both feet weren't on the ground, the towel is fucking annoying too. Boils my piss that does. What’s wrong with it?
And a throw-in is much, much easier to judge than any ball into the box by foot.Keeper should be catching anything in his 6 yard box but Wilson never does shit keeper.
Towels shouldn’t be allowed. I think at the point of release both feet are on the floorLooks like both feet weren't on the ground, the towel is fucking annoying too. Boils my piss that does.

Touché hyperbole both waysMaybe not ten yards - but if you think the gap between the corner flag, where it went out, and his throw in position is 2 feet, you want your eyes checked, Pete!
