Well he's off and running, and interacts with a football in the more traditional manner.

Nigerians haven't gone for it - very surprised.

Higuaín should have scored from Messi's pass

Hmmm, Jenas saying he is not sure on the Nigeria pen, but to me that looked pretty obvious.

What happened after that was ridiculous. Farcical. Cooly taken though, Moses cool as a cucumber.

I agree, he had hold of him. That was a pen. The solution is simple, just stop holding on to your opponent

It's game after game and nobody seems to be learning their lesson. There is no need to have your arms round the attacker. It's a foul and therefore a penalty. Not a hard concept to understand.

Players haven't got to grip with how much they are 'allowed' to foul in the penalty area! Think it might kick off big time later in the Argie game.

Also Argies will be diving in the box and appealing for everything. Get back to playing (giving it to Messi) and they might win.

Put a few pennies (literally, 75p over the two bets) on Nigeria Argentina draw and Croatia and under 2.5 goals...

Nigeria looking more likely at the minute. Argentina heads have gone a bit.

Thought Mascherano was going to get himself sent off after the penalty

Feel sorry for Messi - he really does carry this team and having to try stuff he wouldn't normally because the rest of them aren't producing - and even Messi (at the moment) has gone a bit off the boil.

Nigerian keeper will take ages over goal kicks - watch Argies get angrier as game progresses

Well played ref. Why did the VAR ask the ref to review it?

Nigeria doing themselves no favours by keep trying to win freekicks and going down far too easily. Ref's having none of it.
