I was there too, the guy who got glassed was at the bar with me and went outside with his round, I sat down and he came in with blood all over his face a few minutes later. Hope he isn't too badly injured.

I should add that this is the first time anything like this has happened there, away fans are welcomed and I was talking to a Northampton fan not long before this incident.

I quite often park there and take my lad in for a coke and a batch before the game, normally
Busy but very laid back and orderly, I've never heard a raised voice TBH.
Brave lads to go here looking for trouble
Hope the fella glassed is ok.

Could never imagine at 17 even thinking about raising a glass at a bloke 60 plus. I'd be ashamed.

It's the sign of how dangerous it can be now, when it's 5 on 1 and they have no issues with putting a glass in some bodies face.

Much prefer to the way gypsys do it

It always used to be the case that unless you went looking for trouble you were generally OK. Isn't like that anymore, only have to look at someone the wrong way and it can all kick off. People complain that nobody jumps in to help these days but its one thing to jump in when its blokes using their fists and you're evening the numbers up, another to risk getting knived or glassed.

I remember stopping a lad taking a pasting once in a pub, split it up and then a car pulled up and started having a go at me.

I'd been out all day so can't remember much apart from one of them saying get the blades out the car, another lad whacking me in the back of the head from behind and about ten of them stood there waiting to pile in.

Turns out they were some gang.

All because I stopped their mate from getting a pasting and they must have thought it was me.

Last time I'd ever bother.

I'm by no means old l, but when I was younger it would be fist fights. Now it's like 14 year olds with guns. It's crazy.

Life ban, a few years in nick sleeping three to a cell with a couple of old lags who haven't had any for ages, could end up with a backside like a bill posters bucket !!

I'd have been more scared of going home after my family has found out I'd glassed an old boy than jail I think.

Think that's part of the problem nowadays. Nobody gives a shit.

You are correct, in my day one thing that kept you on the straight and narrow was the risk of getting your name in the papers should you end up in court, the telegraphs centre pages use to have loads of court cases, don't even see a telegraph now for monthd

You're naive if you think the gypo's aren't like everyone else. Heard and even seen instances where they have used weapons and even guns. You only see what they want you to see but they are no different to everyone else, they have there wankers just as all other walks of life do. They just think they're a cut above and like tax paying folk to think that they're noble. I know of a few times when blades have been pulled on lads I know from Cov by gypo's.

Gippos Pikeys travelers etc lets get it straight Romany gypsies are the older genuine ones, the Irish travelers have a bad name by ripping every fooker off doing shoddy work and fooking off. Leaving shit loads of bushes and concrete In the War Memorial park for one instance no sorry on one or more occasion all round the country people dont want the fookers. I come from both Irish parents and not all "Travelers" are bad but by Christ they dont do anyone who is genuine any favors.
Start paying tax for starters Council tax and maybe the odd Transit towing a caravan having the Correct number plate on the back also helps. Fooking do my head in giving genuine Irish people a bad name.
You take people as they are all around the world and say as you find.
Rant over! PUSB

'kin ell Rob - you know how to treat a girl. Hope you had one of the cheese and onion rolls - onions that'll make your eyes smart. Or be a wuss and go for the ham and tomato (unless they only do them on match days).

Happy birthday Amelia !

I thought I was the only one on here that correctly refers to those bread products as rolls. Good work, mate.

'West End Boot Girls' used to be a 'thing' in the '70's.
Don't know how effective they were on a match day though.
Probably little more than cheer leaders.
