Was wondering if the game would be postponed so I looked at the BBC forecast:-

Noticed that the windspeed peaks at 55mph at guess which time? Yes, 15:00 Saturday.

We’ll be okay, the last two games v Bolton and Portsmouth have been blustery, might dictate what team MR puts out though.

Armed with those statistics (it's predicted to be 43mph at 10am) can they really justify waiting an hour before KO to call the game off?
At what time was Man City's game called off the other day?
When was the last time we won away from home in winds of 50(+) mph?

I don't know, but if it's blowing down the pitch rather than across it I'm sticking a few bob on one of the keepers scoring from a goal kick

is that mph or knots ?, I suspect it’s the latter, meaning in mph it’s nearer 65mph

It's mph - the only 2 options on BBC weather are kph or mph.

Yup and that's all to do with the weather.

They're all postponed whether they like it or not.

Wonder when they will make an announcement if the game is off. Wind speeds are near 60mph with rain at 3pm.

If the ball can’t stay still in dead ball situations they will have to call it off. I’m sure. 55mph will blow the ball away before it’s kicked at corners, free kicks, goal kicks etc.

Can’t see it going ahead tbh.

It's also to do with supporter safety too, so if stand roofs are rattling, or stuff is in danger of being blown over etc, it might not go ahead.

Yes indeed. The earlier they make a decision the better as fans will be travelling. Driving conditions will be dangerous as well.

Our coach leaves at 8.30. I have about 10% expectation of the game going ahead!

You know they’ll have taken decisions based on what’s going to happen rather than just seeing what’s it’s like at 3 don’t you?

Some national league games off already. Anyone heard of any inspections at all?

It has to go ahead - I've just wrapped the samosa's in foil and I'm currently deliberating on which book to take for the journey.

The 55mph figure is gusts, it won't be blowing 55 the whole time.

Obviously it's still going to be bloody windy, but depending on how sheltered it is inside the ground I can see it going ahead

It's what's going on outside which forms the decision.

Some games will be postponed on safety reasons. Potential of roof sheets blowing off stands etc.

Down to safety who makes that decision though, doubt it will be the referee so probably Police all to do with public safety

Travelling from London to this one today (have to use those apparently dangerous tubes I’ve just been reading about) so will be leaving this as late as possible... what time would the decision usually be made?

I would guess midday, might be worth a phone call to ground or even police
